Re: Cyberpunk 2077
I can surprisingly run the Ultra preset (no ray tracing) and stay above 30 FPS on the new patch, so I'm probably just going to roll with that. Even getting to a stable 40 (let alone 60) means cutting out way too much of the image quality. I'm above last-gen console spec while running all of the CPU and HDD-related settings at Max (so I have the full crowds that the PS4 doesn't for one thing), which is about what I was expecting going in - I wasn't ever expecting to have it run as fast as the PS5 could. Would like to see some ray tracing optimization at some point though - at least to the point where I could keep the medium RT preset above 30. It's also not like I don't have higher FPS options - the High preset only rarely drops below 45 FPS for example - but the experience just starts feeling a a little pared down graphically.
It's a very pretty game even without the Ray Tracing.Last edited by bcruise; 12-12-2020, 03:43 PM.Comment

Has anyone noticed there are no parked cars... anywhere. No parking lots, nothing. Just closed off, "parking garages," that can't be accessed. No cars parked along the street, no open parking lots filled with cars, etc.Comment

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
Yeah I think DLSS was my culprit for the "too blurry" effect - that blurriness was actually low resolution caused by DLSS Performance mode. Like you I turned it to Quality and saw an immediate difference even on 1080p. I actually think the game's not really intended to be run at less than 1440p but at least with the right DLSS settings it doesn't look terrible anymore.

I think gsync and my monitor set to 120hz mode helps this a bit too

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
I've played this for two days on PS5 and while it's good I finally caved and bought a new gaming PC. It's overdue anyway as my current PC is running a GTX 780.
After Thursday I'll be running...
i7-10700KF Processor
16 GB DDR4 RAM
1TB Ms NVMe SSD
GeForce RTX 3070 - 8 GB GDDR5
I've got a lot of reading up to do on what the best settings are for PC's. It's been a while since I had a decent rig and have been into PC gaming. I just couldn't bring myself to wait until, "sometime next year," for the PS5 next gen patch. To me the game on PS5 just has so many poor textures. And from what I've read the PS5 version of the game is basically locked into the, "performance," mode of the game. Unlike the XBox Series X, which has an option to toggle between the performance mode and the quality mode. So with this new PC I'll be able to tweak the games visuals to my liking.
Other than the poor texture quality, the other issue I have with the PS5 version is the desolate city. It looks like it's on medium city density at best, possibly even low. But I won't know until I fire this up on Thursday on my new rig.
It looks like for a while the PS5 will be my MLB The Show machine.Comment

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
Whoa. I took a look at my time played in steam after completing the prologue and I was at 14hrs. I probably could have finished the prologue quicker but was doing a lot of side missions and gigs to build up my character. I must say that after the prologue and finally running into John Wick (AKA Johnny Silverhand) is when the story picks up steam and the game gets juicy. Loving the game!!

Cyberpunk 2077
Finally was able to sit down for more than 30/45 min and got a solid 3 hrs early this morning and this game is a piece of work. Loving every bit of this and haven’t noticed any glitches yet.
This game has pulled me away from AC Valhalla and I didn’t think that was possible.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
booted it up last night on the xsx, right up my alley so I was loving it - but all I did after character creation was the tutorials and first real mission. Super excited for more though - went for graphics over performance and toggled a few things but it's more subtle than say the original mass effect (film grain)Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
After 25 hours of playing on the pc, I can say this is the best game I have ever played. It's also the best looking game I have ever played. I have never cared about characters this much in any game before. I also love the music. I'm supremely impressed.Comment

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
I’m curious is anyone knows the answer to this. What graphics preset is the PS5 running on? XBox Series X has a toggle for performance and quality but PlayStation 5 does not. I’m assuming PlayStation 5 is locked into the performance mode, but what kind of texture quality is this? Obviously it’s not high, and if I had to guess I’d say it’s on low actually. I’m just wondering what kind of upgrade I can expect when this new PC arrives. I should be able to run most things on high and ultra, so I’m sure it will be an improvement. I’m just not sure quite how much.
