Since then I've done a lot better on hacks. People seem to enjoy attacking me as they hack me when I find them. Very weird thing.

I took nmain's tip and paused the game at one point and saw the city moving around. I had a gut feeling someone was tailing me. Something just didn't feel right. And lo and behold, someone was. So I waited till an NPC did something unusual in the area. Considering I had just taken down a criminal in an alley, it was odd to me that an NPC would casually walk down that same alley. Usually they end up running away afraid for their lives.

And it was the hacker. He tried to jump in a car that was parked in the alley, but I opened the door from the other side and pushed him out. Then I jumped out of the vehicle, chased him a few feet and he just stood still. Once he pulled out an automatic weapon, I shot him down with my gun. Now that I think about it, I realize he was toggling for his automatic rifle when he stood still against the wall.

One thing I can't seem to do (so I assume you can't) is take down a hacker with circle. Ran up to one who tried to hack me and cornered him but he ended up disappearing because he shot at me before I could take him out. I kept pressing circle and nothing happened. Whackness.

I did hack one guy who really had no clue where I was. I need to check because I think I recorded it. He kept running around cars looking for me and every time he ended up closer to me, I would drive away hitting several other cars. Yet somehow this never raised his suspicions! I did this for a good amount of time. Just driving back and forth while he ran around in circle searching for me and never did he put two-and-two together that the guy driving his car back and forth, hitting other vehicles, was the hacker.

I guess he just thought I was a crazy NPC trying to get out of a car jam.
Sometimes having the perfect hacking spot is not a option I've learned and improvising is critical.

Last night, I got finished with a couple of main story missions and fought off a couple of invaders so at this point I was ready for revenge. When I joined the opponents game he was underneath the raised interstate over pass yet with him directly beneath the interstate I could not get a view on him to hack him. I knew if I could just manage to hack him I would have at least 30 to 40% complete before he would manage to find a on ramp.

Just so happen he just edged out enough where I got the hack. So I immediately initiated it and I saw him start scrambling running, but he spent a good 30 sec or so scouting under where he was at before realizing I was above.

This is where I knew I was a sitting duck once he got up here since there was no where to hide and I would not be able to jump off with out dying. Traffic is flying around me on all sides and then it hit me, "MASSIVE GRID LOCK!!!!!!!". I grabbed a big rig truck and parked it blocking traffic, then a different truck on the opposite side also. Traffic came to a screeching halt as no cars could pass and wreck after wreck started happening.

It looked like a highway scene from The Walking Dead, cars dead stopped everywhere made for excellent hide and seek. Then around 55% I see his purple name pop up in a car slamming into the back of the huge pile up. He started climbing on cars and running everywhere but there was cars literally stacked and all jammed up so densely that it was a nightmare for him to try and point his cursor at each driver to profile all the people.

I easily weaved and took cover from car to car staying away from him for a easy 100% successful hack. It was one of those moments I was real proud of myself because what was a disadvantageous situation, yet due to some quick thinking I turned it in my favor.

    Love this game!

        Re: Watch Dogs

Question. Are the random criminal side missions limitless? I'm getting kind of nervous because I see 14/20 on the criminal mission list which is making me think once I hit 20 there will not be anymore? Or does a new set open up? I NEED limitless side quests and random missions as I really don't play the story mode in games like this. Well, I do play story mode, only EVERY now and again will I do a story mission.

I've had the game since release and I haven't even started the second mission after the garage level yet.

Those are cool pics. Kind of reminds of Reddington from Blacklist, which brings me to saying, it would be cool to recruit NPCs for the cause or hire a bodyguard. There could be lots of dynamics put into it too, like for instance in one of the crime stops, what if you save the life of a kid who then wants to be trained by you? Or suppose you have a cast of characters to choose from as apprentices and you have to do your homework on each one because they could be a potential spy or something. There's lots of cool things they can do with this franchise moving forward and endless conspiracy narrative stories that can be developed into a new game.

Also, anyone try that Caught in the loop gang convoy mission? Its where you have to take down 2 carloads of hillbilly gangsters while not killing them and they have about 6 escort cars. One of the gangsters always dies because they jump out of the car and they get caught in the cross fire, or someone runs them over. It seems impossible. Even when I trap them in the alley, either I die or one of them die. I can't get close enough to take them all out without killing 1. If it was just about stopping them, no problem, but it says they have to live, you have to take them down. Its extremely frustrating.
You need to tail the convoy until almost the end of the trail. There will be a compressor that causes a blackout, I blacked out the street, then beat up the two thugs.

I might be wrong, but it looks like you don't need PS Plus to do the online hacking. Is that right? I'm 99% sure I don't have a subscription but I got hacked last night and I started hacking others as well.

                  Re: Watch Dogs

Not too far into the campaign yet but loving this. I almost don't even want to play the campaign and just walk around the city, listen to conversations, steal money and see what happens.

The online hacking is WAY more fun than I thought it would be. It's pretty exhilerating to hide and see them looking for you and trying to figure out the next move. Setting off explosions to draw them away, parking cars to hide, it's pretty well done.

The tailing part of hacking is alright, not my favorite. Haven't tried much else.

Can anyone spoiler what happens after the campaign is over? Does it basically become just free roam?

I wonder if this game will help Chicago tourism?

I did the first mobile online mode yesterday where you gotta race around while a mobile player tries to stop you. That was INSANE. When the police SUV a cop car and my car squeezed in the middle like the filling in a cop oreo sandwich hit a tree and all three of us went air bourne at about 80MPH is was awesome. I think the video I took got messed up though.

I did "Xbox Record That" for an absolute fail of someone hacking me and me failing to find him...do I have to go to upload studio to get it to Youtube now?

I'm loving this game though! Just got through all the ctOS spots yesterday. Did some peeping invasion missions too, those are funny. Also played through just one more mission over the weekend, there's just too much fun stuff to do otherwise. I'm working on getting all 5 star weapons so I have options.

This was the first, and possibly last, convoy mission I tried and I found it to be impossible for the reasons you mentioned. I quit after an hour of pure frustration and don't forsee trying again.

You cannot run around sucker-punching people. There isn't even a punch button. There is a take-down button that's pretty much using a night stick to immobilize a threat. But you can't use it on pedestrians.

Having said that, damage caused by hacks (explosions, steam pipes bursting, car accidents) can and will cause injury and death to pedestrians, and it hurts your rating among the citizens.
