I'm a big fan of Quantic Dream and Telltale but what Supermassive Games has done with this game, they've set the bar on QTE's and Choices. Should I go here or go there? Do I do this or that? They've really captured it well. I wouldn't grab my wallet and rush to a movie theater to watch teenagers in the cabin struggle to survive against a ???????? But this game? This game has drawn me in, and has me wondering what I need to do in my next chapter. It's brilliant.

I've noticed that each time I see the good Dr., I've just completed an hours worth of gaming. Heading into chapter 4, I've played about 3 hours. Couldn't believe he had a snake, needle, and clown all there in his office for me from picking at my worst fears test with me. SOB even scolded me at one time.

Lost Ashley (1st death) in Chapter 3. I don't even know what I could have done differently. Someone came out and did a Freddie Krueger and yanked her out of the house window. What a way to head into Chapter 4!!!!

Did you take your time to try and get to her or rush? I took my time and I wonder if I would have taken short cuts and hurried if I would have been able to save her?

It was the last qte don't move thing, I had the ****ing controller as still as possible, it was even resting on my ****ing desk, no way it could be any more ****ing still. Horse**** is too ****ing sensitive.

Really pissed. I had a bunch to say and was saving it up until after, but **** this game. I'm done.

Nah, I made a major screw-up. She wasn't my 1st. Chapter 4 and 5 has my whole group in a ##it of a mess but it's been my favorites too.

It was Jess who was taken out. Chapter 4 starts with Mike chasing after her. We then see her with a broken jaw. Mike chases the ???????? to a mansion and is trying to find his way out.

Ashley and Josh were both tied up in some outside mill. Chris, after awaking from his separation from Ashley had to make a choice between the 2 to save. After picking Ashley, they come across Matt and Emily who goes for help after Chris and Ashley tell them what had happened to Josh.

Matt and Emily are now trying for the radio tower after someone disabled the carriage car and trashed the station.

Sam's been caught by this ???????? after having her bath scene, but I think this is a sleeping injection she's getting. So, I don't think I've lost her.

The ending with Dr. feelgood has me wondering what's going on now. ...Need a break before jumping into Chapter 6.

That was great! Wasn't really a scary game but man I LOVED absolutely minute of it.. only ended with 2 survivors though, I really dropped the ball at the end.

Until Dawn (PS4)

Rented this from RedBox yesterday. Took two trips thanks to some *** returning a CD in place of the game. Good news was I received two free game rental codes for the hassle.

Anyway, Until Dawn is the game I have wanted since playing Heavy Rain way back when. This is QTE done at its finest. Everything is top notch.

Should beat it sometime tonight or tomorrow. These poor characters had no chance surviving under my control. So I will be picking the game up when the price drops even further. Want to give it another play through or two., and support the project because I would love to see more big budget games like this one released.

Finished Until Dawn, eh... First half I really enjoyed, second half not so much. Got to point where didn't care about clues, just ending. Don't get me wrong though, overall I enjoyed the experience just not the second half as much.

Completed UD and may I say that this is one of the best games I've played this year. The ending was intense. Will play it again with the extra bonus chapter next time.

I thought the clues regarding the Lost Miners as an interesting back story. You knew Josh was the psycho but the Wendigos were a real threat and scared the s##t out of me. It killed that Bill lookalike from Last of us and ripped Chris's head off. Tossed it right in front of Ashley while she was looking out the window door pane. She naturally freaked. Damn.....

Two things bug me about this. One is the unskippable "previously on until dawn" cutscenes. The other is that so many of Dr Hill's questions have a choice of two answers and neither fits.

I loved the Dr - patient play. I thought Dr. Hill was fabulous in this crazy setting, playing within Josh's mind.
The previously on was a nice break and a nice recap. It usually only lasted about 25 secs.

You need to find the Diary in the mines in the last chapter. Its when you get into the water by the waterwheel. A guidance Totem gives a clue. You also need to find the photo of Hannah's new tattoo. I forgot where that is.

This is the scene where you verify that this thing is Hannah which was another twist to the story. The butterfly tattoo.

I went back and played chapter 10 again and was able to save 3 people.

Sam and Ashley. Man I was so mad when that bitch Ashley stood there and let Chris die. I had a chance to save Mike too but I guess I blew the lodge too early.

This was the best game I ever played in a long time. I would give a 9.5 out of 10. I really think this type of interaction system will be the future of gaming. The last game I played with this type of interaction system was Wing Commander 4 back in the early 1990s.

The atmosphere was top notched. Loved the little sounds that came out of the controller speaker. Grant it I thought the 1st half of the game was better then the second half. Second half felt unnecessary cliche.

Sam was my hero here. She was moving closer and closer towards the door hiding at certain spots. She had to stay still about 3 different times with the Wendigo inches away. Mike, Ashley, Emily ran out of the house before Sam ran and flipped the switch.

Matt surprisingly survived his experiences in the mines solo. He met the rest of the survivors outside.

I only saved two. Played the game with headphones on and mostly in the dark and it made me jump quite a bit. Wasn't sure I'd like it, but probably my favorite point and click type game that I've played.

Played completely blind, here's what happened to my characters. Dont click if you havent finished.

Jessica- Died 1st. I missed a qte while chasing after her. How Mike survived for hours in just a tank top after falling in the freezing water, I'll never know.
Emily- Was escaping the mine, accidentally hit the wrong button twice and she fell and got ground up. Yuck.
Chris- Ashley didnt let me in the house when escaping the monsters. Head ripped off.
Ashley- Whoops, stupid decision. Let the wrong one in.
Josh- Sister crushed his head with its hands. Ouch.
Mike- Died when I flipped the light switch. Boom.

Sam- Survived
Matt- Surprisingly survived, he was MIA for pretty much the entire 2nd half.

The only trophies I got were...

For throwing a vase at the psycho, for cutting mikes fingers off, for "shooting" Ashley, keeping the wolf alive, letting the monster in with Ashley, and blowing up the lodge.

I must say I really liked the first half. While it was still good after that, it wasn't as good.

There was a copy in my redbox i picked up yesterday. Finally finished it today and actually managed to keep everyone alive. Man, i got extremely lucky. A few choices i made i was sure it was gonna end badly, but didn't.

Josh survived the attack by WedigoHannah, however in the post credit scene he turns into a Wendigo. The game still considered him alive at the end (the trophies popped). Anyway, I found the diary, the photo with hannahs new tattoo, one of the twins phone and a few other things, that triggered the "good" outcome for Josh. He remembered Hannah and somehow she remembered him.

Really enjoying this game.

Did not anticipate buying it...not one for horror movies or interactive games normally.

But this game is really atmospheric.

I have a nice 5.1 set of headphones and the game really shouldbe played late at night with surround sound heaphones on. Have jumped out of my seat more than once so far
