I really, really, hate how we were denied the level and depth of ME2 in ME3. The way the last mission works is just perfect. Figuring out which party member for which role. Would've been great to do the same but with entire legions of soldiers.

"Shepard, we need someone to bring down that tower! They have to be strong, and fearless, but smart enough to know their limits!"

    "I know, the hanar!"

Then you get to watch as the hanar get eaten by a really large reaper dog or something.

Just finished the trilogy... Now I can sleep! I will miss the series though.

Ugh, the super mountainous planets are just murder to navigate in the Mako.

The Mako didn't bother me after I begin thinking about it as a monster truck.

Probably the crappiest monster truck of all time....one that gets stuck in the side of hills and handles like a garbage truck (!). But, it did have machine guns and rockets, so it's got that going for it...

The Mako and the resurce mining was my least favorite part of the games. Close second was all the safe cracking in 2. It never made sense how Shepard was on a mission to save the universe but made time to crack safes for some quick cash.

I liked the Mako stuff because even though the planets became very similar by the end it served as a nice change of pace and to expand the game's universe. ME2 felt very closed off and small.

I felt like ME3 was more closed off, it felt like I just went to a couple planets and didn't do a whole lot overall. 3 was probably my least favorite.

I agree...someone, somewhere at a huge company like Bioware/EA has to have a better idea for minigames than "resource mining" and "safe cracking"....I mean, seriously - is there anyone that actually looked forward to either of those things? Didn't they get any feedback from play-testers that holding down the trigger and spinning the planet 500 times in the game was mind-numbingly boring? How does this stuff make it into the final game? I mean, resource mining was about as exciting as reading the instruction manual...maybe even a little less so. And the fact that you have to do it so many times is insane.

I agree that it added a more "RPG" type feel to the game. By ME2, the game was basically a 3rd-person shooter with RPG type elements. Although I think ME2 was the best one.

Totally agree. ME3 was my least favorite by far, and it felt more like an expansion pack to ME2 than a whole new game (let alone a grand finale to the series). You really didn't visit places you thought you'd get to see at some point but read about ad nauseum, and your squad was somehow smaller than any of the other games, with even fewer useful characters. I tried not to, but basically I never could find a reason to run with anything other than the Shep-Liara-Garrus team, with maybe Tali thrown in there once in a while. But there should have been a reason to run with other team members, and there should have been way more new faces to add with cool back-stories to explore. The game just felt constrained and stripped-down, which is the exact opposite of what I wanted from a sprawling conclusion to an epic trilogy. And I won't even get back into the whole decision-making consequences issue that's been beaten to death...

Anyway, I won't say ME3 was a "bad" game, but it was underwhelming in the extreme. Probably a victim of the quality of the first 2 games, with the bar just set too high.

By ME3 there's no reason whatsoever for you to be doing a whole lot of exploring. Though they could've worked in a more active search for war assets.

But I never cared for anything but the story missions and getting upgrades so people wouldn't die.

Oh well. I'm just wondering if the next Mass Effect game is on the next gen like I suspect, you won't be able to upload your Shepard save data, will you?
