Do you have a Titan? We had one with WoL and it took awhile but we got it. We had 3 365 Arc Snipers, the trick is to unload all your sniper rounds and have two people use synths at the same time while one continues to shoot Skolas with an Arc Machine Gun. Then unload another round of Sniper ammo and he should be nearly dead, by this time the mines will probably be spawning. If A is near you, continue to shoot the boss with the rest of your Machine Gun ammo until dead and dismantle mines after. If A is on the other side, bail out and all go dismantle mines. Once that wave of mines are gone, kill the boss and boom you're done.

It took about an hour to figure it out, but now it's not so bad.

That's the normal strat; the problem with it is that if you don't have Saint-14, the shanks get ya. If somebody peels off to get them, you don't have enough time to kill him and still get mines unless you get lucky on which mine gets spawned first. I've beaten it, and downed him several more times and failed to get mines in time. I actually think the mechanics of the fight are pretty good; hunters and titans are great for taking the mines, and warlocks can absorb the essence and let it kill them because of self revive. But when it's arc burn with sooooo many adds, all you can realistically do is hope to kill him before you actually have to do the real fight.

So can you get the Elder Cipher from only the level 35 Skolas encounter, or can you get it anywhere else?

I'd love to get me the QB Bow. Looks like it'd be a blast to use.

You can get it from 34 too. That's where I got mine.

Just got my first exotic bounty. Gonna get the thorn first and when I get another one, just get the infective later. I didn't even get it from the vanguard robot but Eris Morn. Hope I'm not disappointed with the thorn.

This is the problem we ran into, we had two hunters and a bubble bro with saint 14, as the bubble went away, the shanks would usually take one out, then the other two would run to A (which usually wasn't the close one) then one would die from all the arc fire they took at in the middle or far side mine, then the reviver would have to pass the "relic" (forgot what the thing is called). It just became a **** show and we got tired after 4 hours and with me having other responsabilities the days of grinding away for 9 hours being up till 5 am are gone.

I really don't have a problem when facing the thorn because I never fight someone with it. I usually run to fight someone else if I see they have a Thorn and took no damage from my shot. I hate shotgun more than I do the thorn. Someone just slides or blinks around you and your dead. Imo you actually need skill for the thorn. This is only because it a hand cannon. I haven't really ran into that much Thorns lately, maybe only 2-3.

Getting that 500 void point in the crucible is going to be a pain in the ***. Atleast I got the bounty with my Warlock. So getting some of these a game would be easy with the Nothing Manacles.

I currently have a Void Party Crasher +1. I suck with shotgun so this is going to be even harder. If I can get the Word of Crota, then I wouldn't have a problem.

Yeah I used to hate the Thorn but as I got used to crucible and the strategies it's pretty easy to counter. I've ran into a few really good people at using it but other than that it's mostly scrubs (no offense, I use it sometimes too) that just take a couple of body shots and hop the poison does its work.

This can be applied to anything in crucible: If you're low in health don't keep fighting, run away and recover. 9/10 you won't win if you keep going in the gun fight and you'll just get frustrated.

Yep, I go through spells where I will use Thorn over Hawkmoon, but even then I try to go for the headshot, as those do more damage. The burn happens with the first shot, so if that one or your next one isn't to the head there is a good chance the person will survive if its 1v1, and if the other person has any gun skill you are looking at being killed yourself.

Just ran Crota on HM with a level 33 swordbearer and we took Crota down in 2 swords. Got him to 45% on the first sword and finished him with the second. Can't wait to see what a level 34 does to him.

Hope I can get the WoC soon because so far I'm barely getting 2 points a crucible game for the Thorn bounty with Shotgun.

An easy 2 swords. In the first down of the second sword, you actually gotta hit him only twice to avoid enrage.

This strategy has helped me tremendously. When u walk into someone's line of sight u have time to get away unless it is a skilled sniper. I run away a lot if I don't have the upper hand.

Always think tactically and get into gunfights on your own terms.

I just tackled this bounty last weekend. I used a voidwalker Warlock, WoC, a void fusion gun, and Truth. Use a void shotgun if u are better than the fusion gun.

Go into control where the movement is predictable and u generally have an idea where people are.

Is best to get the bounty completed when Iron Banner is going on. The most skilled players will be playing that mode. Even better if Trials and Iron Banner is going on.

Have fun and remember that u get 5 points for a kill and 2 points for dying.

This week/weekend has put me at the apex of my frustration with Destiny. The time spent (you could argue wasted) on both the 34 and 35 PoE. Knowing that the rewards for a 35 completion pale in comparison to the rewards for hard mode raids. Still being unable to even get to 5 wins in ToO. Then last night it reached an all time high. Normally I am happy when good loot falls for my raid mates. Met them through my Madden CFM, and w/o them would've been done with Destiny a while ago. But as good guys do we brought it a few others as well. Sherpaed them through VoG, and CE and NF while they were underleveled to get them the gear and weapons to make a difference later one. Recently started to get frustarted with ones need to only do things in the group. Pretty much pointed him to destiny lfg to do some of the raids I have no desire to do anymore VoG specifically (two vex, and two FB). He finally after weeks of gently proding goes the lfg route and boom gets a Gjallerhorn last night. Like I said I am normally very happy for any of "my" guys to have great loot drops last three weeks seen two Horns drop for guys as nightfall rewards, well earned as they have been grinding since September. This one though it made me so mad.

Sitting at 1,058 hours put into this game and still not having that drop then to see it drop for someone who has under 300 got me. Especially given that PoE is becoming a Ghorn party for the tougher bosses. Its the one time I'm glad I digitally downloaded this game, becuase I think I would've destroyed the physical disk if I had it.
