So...titanite slabs. Where can get about 20 of them?

Re: Dark Souls II
Welp, first boss down. Took down the Last Giant on the second try. He was pretty easy as long as you stayed close to him and avoided his stomp. Used the extra souls to level up about 5 times, getting my faith over 20 and upping my vigor quite a bit. Also upgraded my mace for the third or fourth time, so that's hitting for quite a bit of damage.
After that, I found Cale and received the mansion key. Got the extra estus shard from there, so now my flask holds 4 uses.
I'm having a LOT of fun now, and I'm actually holding my own pretty well most of the time. I still manage to get myself in over my head from time to time, but that's usually from over confidence and not taking situations slowly like I should.
My only issue is, I now have no clue what to do. I assume I need to clear out Heide's Tower of Flame, but I can barely make it by all of the huge initial knights, let alone the Dragonrider or Old Dragonslayer. Not sure where to continue from here, but I'll find out I guess.
. Heide's Tower blows. I've actually killed the first three knights enough to where they don't respawn. Still hate fighting them. I was actually doing well against the Dragonrider. Got him down to about 1/3 health then my guy didn't roll when I needed him to. Didn't end well. The Old Dragonslayer was just a massacre though.

I was hyped when I beat him. Finally didn't feel helpless. Heide's Tower blows. I've actually killed the first three knights enough to where they don't respawn. Still hate fighting them. The boss on the left I just circled him to your right, his left. Never made contact. Threw in an occasional back roll when he would elevate.5Comment

Re: Dark Souls II
The dragonrider, you gotta stay close to him. I fought him in a stage where you could fall off and die. So I had no other option but stay on him. It worked way better than keeping distance for me. Lock on him and strafe toward his shield arm. Its hard for him to hit in that scenario. If my memory serves me right that is.
The old dragon slayer I just had to learn his pattern. And learn when I could hit him without getting a massive counter from him. I got him in three tries. It was my greatest achievement to that point.Comment

Re: Dark Souls II
Slabs? Phew, that would be tough. I forget where, but a specific enemy drops slabs at a rare rate. Chunks are available in Doors of Pharros by farming those dwarves, and they can also be bought from a merchant slightly more than halfway through the game.Writer for Operation Sports

Re: Dark Souls II
I'm feeling some new armor, I'm currently usingSpoilerThe helm from the decapitated swordsmen, Knight Armor(+5 or so), Dark Gaunts, Dark Legs. I have decent protection, but I feel like I could have more.
Any good mid to late game armor for a Knight?Comment

There is one set in particular that I got a little more than halfway in, and used right up until the end. I'll come back and let you know what it was when I get on my Xbox tonight.Writer for Operation Sports

Re: Dark Souls II
Made some great progress today.
SpoilerTook down the Old Iron King, Duke's Dear Freja, and The Rotten. In Drangleic Castle now and just wiped up the 2 Dragonriders fight. It feels like I'm close to the end, but I could be completely wrong and have another 20 hours to go.
SpoilerI'm using Havel's armor. It's in The Gutter, but you need a video to find it, because the key to open the door is in a spot you would never look.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: Dark Souls II
Only thing I cant stand about this game is the invading. Its the worst thing about this game for me. The worst.
Anyway, just solo'd Old Dragonslayer (solo'd becuase of the invasion btw) as a sorcerer. Only took 2 tries. Im becoming a master dodger.Last edited by kingkilla56; 03-22-2014, 06:40 PM.Comment

I meant to say "chunks" not "slabs" haha! Thanks! I gotta get to that vendor. Is there a finite amount that you can buy?Comment

Re: Dark Souls II
Think I'm going to start my "all achievements" run today. It's going to be tough, but I think I can knock it out by NG+ if I'm careful. I'm going to let myself look at guides and help videos this time around, or else I think it would probably be impossible. I've always done a melee character, I'm thinking of doing a bow/magic/dex weapons build.
Anyone know how good pyromancy is in this game? I loved it in DS1, but I didn't even find the glove until way late into my run in the first game.Last edited by BenGerman; 03-22-2014, 08:49 PM.Writer for Operation Sports
