I agree with everything except the highlighted part. I think you should just play around and find whats a right fit for you. Going in with a pre conceived notion of a "build" for me detracts from really realizing the full potential of this game. That is just my opinion of course. I am on my third playthrough and I have not used the same "build" twice.



This time I am using what, to me, feels like a Witcher build. I have put points into everything and kind of balance it out. I will switch skill sets depending on the battle or battles I am about to face and adjust accordingly. I prefer the slow methodical approach.



But again this is just me. Do what works for you!

Fair enough, I did just play around initially since I was new to the game and I enjoyed it a lot.

Good call, it does enhance the experience. I wish I could forget the whole story and go back and play it again for the first time!

Question regarding the DLC expansions. Do they pop up in my Quests automatically, or do I need to beat the main story line for them to appear, plus be a specific level?

As long as you have them installed they will appear in your quest line automatically. They will all have a suggested level for them so be mindful of that. I believe the HOS quests are blue and the B&W are red.

I think I'm about to try and start this up pretty much for the first time.

Played for few hours before on death march and feel like I'm going to go death march on this first time through.
A.) Is that good choice of difficulty for the whole game? I worry a normal difficulty may be too easy once I've built up character about mid game but I may be wrong?

B.) As far as building up a character any tips on skills I should not waste points on and skills that are a must to complete the game on death march?

This is what I did (first play through on death march). It was tough to about level 7 or 8 then it got better. Use a skill pt on some of the brown upgrades early. One increases your max vitality significantly and another gives you a health Regen bonus that will keep you from spending a small fortune on health potions. Also decide what kind of armor you will wear early on and use the skill upgrade for that too. I went light armor for the crit bonus.

Not a must IMO but it is a lot of fun.

It's great if you missed something or want to change up your decisions too. Plus, I still have a bunch of achievements I need to get.

If you love the game I recommend it.

Oh yea gotta have that "Gourmet" (brown) skill on deathmarch. Gives 20 mins on any food/drink item.

I finished up The Last Wish yesterday.

This game really captured the book's universe and atmosphere really well. The writing quality was excellent, but the world building really helps to put you into the character of Geralt.

Now onto Sword of Destiny.

Man, why did I stop playing this game last year? Amazing game. Love the story telling. This will keep me well occupied before fall titles.

In one of the final quest with Ciri, I peeped how she said something along the lines like "my quest isn't over" or "its just beginning" and they gave Geralt an option to ask "what do you mean" and if you hit that option, Ciri never answers. Instead some women starts to laugh right before she speaks and they ignore the questions. What I got from it is that Ciri will be in the next Witcher. Only makes sense since we played as her a bit. Ciri's powers with more the Geralt's signs or even newer signs would be dope.
