One thing I wish there was (and correct me if I'm just missing it) is a way point for custom markers.

There's no dots but I just follow the marker that shows up on compass.

You can press square (on PS4) while looking at your map to set a custom marker. It doesn't make trail for you to follow (as it does for your quest way points), but you can at least see which direction to go and how far away your point is

Oh I know. Just being lazy I guess and would like a way to have the dots show up for custom markers too.

What did do with the tree?

Also, does anybody know where I can find a journeyman blacksmith in Velen? I have the Griffin armor set and diagrams for the blades, but I have had no luck finding a blacksmith capable of crafting it.

I killed it. I felt like I had been tricked earlier in the game. I thought about how the tree had been tormenting the locals, I I figure the tree spirit is probably as evil as the witches.

I don't have a guide but I need to buy one immediately. Part of me would like to know the consequences of each choice but I guess that's part of the fun of playing a game like this, I just need to convince myself that there are no bad choices, just choices. I can always do it the opposite way in a second play through

PC Patch 1.04 is out.

-Rebinding of all keys is now available after switching on the ‘Unlock Bindings’ option in the Options\Key Bindings submenu.
-Corrects an issue in the dialogue system that might have caused dialogue looping in certain scenes.
-Fixes an issue with incorrect behavior of Wild Hunt warriors after they were affected by the Axii Sign.
-Corrects a bug that caused spontaneous combustion of gas clouds.
-1280 x 720 resolution is now properly displayed as a valid resolution option.
-Fixes boat stuttering in cutscenes.
-Texture rendering quality for the high and ultra presets has been improved.
-Further improvements made in NVIDIA Hairworks performance.
-A few additional gwent cards are now available in the Prologue area.
-Fixes an issue where users with usernames incorporating non-Latin characters were unable to import saves from The Witcher 2.
-Includes a series of overall stability and performance improvements.
-Fixes issues related to alt + tabbing and minimizing the game window.

Yeah... 1.01 on PC has been out of date for a bit. 1.03 came out last week.

What level is everyone at? I'm level 14. I'm doing everything that us my level or below... I just finished "The Griffin school treasure hunt". You get some awesome stuff

I am about to hit lvl 12. I haven't done a treasure hunt yet, am clearing side quests before I so the Triss story mission

Just finally left White Orchard at level 4. Have one more thing to do there - get the 2nd viper sword plan. Other than that I cleared it out. Now I'm really getting into the game. This game is so much fun. Have to step up my gwent game though, the guy in the courtyard at the castle schooled me.

The fact that they have a functioning Magic-like card game within the game is fantastic.

Same. Just got to the outskirts of Novigrad. About 15 exp away from being lvl 12.

A real good way to get powerful remember is to go to all the place of powers... You get an ability point for each one... I maxed out the first two fast strikes and strong strikes put an greater red mutagen on the left and it gave me +28 attack power with muscle memory, strength training and precise blows in the box's. The most important thing put a point on was under general Sun and Stars.... You get your health back every 10 while not in combat

Also everyone sell all the pearls and dark pearls you can... I think they're gonna patch that out next.

They need to patch in gwent multiplayer.

Seriously.

Just make some Tavern and inns have a guy that puts you into an mp lobby with others.
