Re: The Witcher 3
That's the reason I don't ever eat this McDonalds thing or I don't buy products that have misleading ads. What's your point? Should I react like a sheep and stay in a corner without saying anything? I have the right to be disappointed for this and I have the right to speak about it.
Companies will always try to push the graphical limits initially and often have to alter aspects to make a more stable build. Its not misleading. Its common, especially when trying to build. A cross platform game. Im sorry if this seems new to you. It's not at all. I dont even see how this is a shock. They just arent going to build a game that would run at 5-6 fps for most gamers. Nothing to do with anyone understanding this being "sheep". Theyve shown plenty of recent media over the last 6 montgs to show exactly what this game looks and plays like NOW.Yankees, Manchester United, Chicago Bears, New York RangersComment

Re: The Witcher 3
Witcher 2 was designed for only the beefier of builds to be able to play it at it's highest settings at good framerates. 4A did the same with their Metro titles. It wasn't a problem then and certainly nowhere near suicide. You simply adjusted the settings of your computer to find the balance that was right for you. Of course, at the time it(Witcher 2) was a PC only game and logically went through a significant downgrade process to be playable on the 360.PS: You guys are great.

I'm sure once the game is out,and we start to see all the in-game screenshots from folks here, the downgrade discussion will mostly be put to rest.People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

Re: The Witcher 3
PC gamers have it multiple times a year. If something isn't exclusive to PC then it's **** essentially in their minds. Always been that way.
I'm in no way saying every PC gamer is like this just explaining the problem.
Also anyone hear if there's a theater/photo mode in the game?PS4 Twitch: http://www.twitch.tv/candyman5os

Re: The Witcher 3
My .02 cents regarding this whole downgrade thing:
As I bought it for the PC, it sucks that the graphics have been downgraded from that initial gameplay trailer from 2014 (?) and what we're getting on release. Like others have mentioned, using The Witcher 2 as an example, that game was originally only intended to be released on the PC, which is the reason why it looked as great as it did at the time on its highest setting while still remaining playable on less powerful PCs once you adjust the settings. It was only a year or so later when they decided to port it to consoles and make adjustments needed to make the game run efficiently on those platforms. The Witcher 3, meanwhile, was developed from the very beginning (or near it) to be multi-platform -- PC & consoles -- and thus, graphically speaking, the PC version is hampered by the consoles' inferior hardware. As a developer, I'd imagine it would make no sense to have another team devoted to making the PC version look so great over its console cousin when a vast majority would look at the current game and say "wow, that's next gen!"
I wish we could get that graphically superior PC version from last year -- and we still might down the road, with mods and perhaps CDPR releasing texture packs like they did last time -- but this downgrade hasn't lessened my enthusiasm for the game one bit. It's 3~ days until we finally get to play it, and though she might not be as pretty as we thought she would be, she's still pretty great looking.Comment

Re: The Witcher 3
it's gotten worse with this gen (imo)
I already have the game paid for and downloaded on my PS4,and have watched a few vids that have been on the PS4,and I think the game looks damn nice from what I've seen.
I sure as hell ain't going to let someone make attempts to discourage me from enjoying a game.Comment

Re: The Witcher 3
I'm not complaining. I'm commenting on gameplay videos. Is there a forum rule against this? Or all you want is to be aggressive just for the sake of it?
Saying that the gfx are ok is complaining now? You want to hear that the game runs steadily at 30fps on PS4? No it doesn't even with the Day 1 patch applied.
There's also an issue where Post FX shut down suddenly which will be fixed later by CDPR. I'm posting info and facts.Comment

Re: The Witcher 3
I definitely want to get this game but may refrain until I play 1 and 2 first. I read somewhere that you don't have to play the earlier versions to enjoy it but it seems I may miss much more if I don't.
For those lucky gamers, here's how you bring Witcher 2 decisions over.

Re: The Witcher 3
The Witcher 3 still is what as well? Developed to push the beefier PC setups at max settings and downgraded from there to be playable on consoles? Nope. Well, it was at first but the release of the next-gen consoles saw them shift focus to develop with the weaker components as a base. The console version is the PC version, only with Gameworks and more resolutions available. There was a comparison video today showing Max settings on PC vs the PS4. There was virtually no difference. CDPR had that video removed quickly.
This is not only off topic, but also unsubstantiated hyperbole. There are irrational fanboys for damn near everything so let's just kill that noise please.
How will the PC ultra version hold up against consoles?
It will be possible to spot differences in, for example, Nvidia HairWorks, but those are very demanding graphically, so a strong PC will be needed. What I’m about to say might not be diplomatic. In the future you will be able to turn on the option of ubersampling, which, upon the release of The Witcher 2, was killing the game, and will probably do the same with this title, so we don’t want to unlock it for now. It makes the game look better, but the requirements are insane.
When it comes to The Witcher 3, you haven’t talked much about its technical side. Let me quote your statement for Game Industry of March 2013: ‘The PC allows for more at the moment, but new platforms are stepping up. In the future, it should be much easier to unify the requirements.’ Has that future arrived?
I think so. It is impossible to make a game for three different platforms that will utilize all of the various platforms’ unique features and specs. It’s a technical fact. Making an exclusive title allows to squeeze more out of the target device.
The Witcher 3 is a rich production full of unique characters and a few thousand people. Let’s not forget castles, two large cities and the enormity of the world that has to be filled up. We’ve done everything we could to make the game look spectacular. And this doesn’t depend on the platform… We could up the resolution in the PC version, as the hardware is stronger, but at the same time we wouldn’t be able to do something new, like, e.g., rewriting the rendering engine that would be able to render such an amount of triangles. If we had lightmaps of interiors, the game would have looked much smoother, but in this case we wouldn’t have managed to simultaneously provide dynamic lightning in an open world. The game would have chunked all of the memory, even on PCs.Yankees, Manchester United, Chicago Bears, New York RangersComment
