Since we're all just getting started, thought this vid was worth 5 minutes to watch.

        Yeah good vid.

I think this game is going to get a lot of people into the series for the first time, all these "intro to witcher" guides and videos are very helpful to me

Keep posted any more like this please

I am so confused on if I should pick the simulate option or not. Hopefully there are clearer answers by the time I try to play.

I never saw the option. Might have missed something being impatient

The game is well optimized for pc (as long as you don't use hairworks ofc). Looks nice, runs great and character details are beautiful but the whole thing is too colorful. I hope there will be a good SweetFX soon.
1080p, everything on High except shadows medium, all post processing effects on except motion blur. 55-60 fps and there's room for some ultra settings too.

                    Re: The Witcher 3

I'm posting on a phone, wish I could type out a better reaponse.

I understand the confusions I was confused too.

Have you played witcher 2? Choices you makes in W2 affect the game world in W3, it carries over kinda like Mass Effect series

If you want t manually decide which choices from w2 your game recognizes and emulates in w3, the hit YES to simulate, you will simulate at some point in the first part of the game, it's a conversation with an NPC where he asks you questions.

If you just want the default w3 world the devs created following the events of w2, select No when asked to simulate

There was a point during the day/night cycle that things got more muted and temperate, it was prefect and I wished I could have just stuck it at that setting.

JareBear's comments led me to this site that explained the process:

And then this article goes over the choices and how you'll be asked about them:

                          Atlanta Braves
                          - Auburn Tigers - Nashville Predators

When it says guards won't tolerate looting, is it like Skyrim where they will attack you or arrest you?

I'm loving the game so far, but some of the controls are a little wonky and will need a patch. The swimming mechanics are especially awkward.

I found the swimmer mechanics to be one of the less awkward feeling in the game. Riding a horse is extremely awkward.
