There's like six or seven "portions" or "zones" of the map that you can actually walk around in. This definitely would've influenced my decision to purchase if I was aware from the start. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't this marketed as an "open world" game. Is this technically considered "open world" ? My definition of open world is a bit different I suppose.

If those "zones" are the only traversable areas, then those "zones" should have been the only thing displayed as a world map (which would have made the world WAYYYY smaller than whats been promoted) Am I off for thinking thats how it should be or what?
The game areas its self are already extremely large. The game is big. IMO I think you are off thinking that way but everyone has their own opinions.

Some popular games I think stink as well like Left 4 Dead and MGS. Also I didnt think Fallout was as great people made it also but that was due to the boring environment.

Oh most definitely. I just have to shift my approach to the game (which probably will not be very difficult for me to do), however, I was expecting something completely different, and although its very possible for me to have missed that the devs specified this fact before release, I don't think they were straight forward about it.

Thats cool, but dude, ALL of that land/water mass that you can't access doesn't get under your skin even a smidge?

I was under the impression after Velen there would be other areas of equal size, is that not the case?

Maybe DLC will expand the world map?

It irked me the other day as I was trying to take down a bear while only level 4. I was kiting it around, using trees as shields, and going in for just an attack or two before dodging back behind cover. I eventually unknowingly kite him past the boundary (sense there's no indication you're close or crossing it) and the game gives me the end of the world message and resets me back in bounds but it doesn't reset the bear which at this point is at ~10 percent health.

At that point the bear was far enough past the boundary I couldn't get into range of him before the game reset me back in bounds. Eventually I stalked him enough and was able to get close enough to tease him back in bounds using the crossbow and was able to finish him off.

Yeah, there's something really funky about the locomotion. The controls somehow feel worse than the Witcher 2 and if you're playing on console, it's made worse by further input latency due to the frame rate being a mixed bag outside of White Orchard. There's an area in Valen where every single combat encounter is in the low 20s. It's so bad that I think it's a memory leak.
Man, I just did the bloody baron quest line, amaZing stuff. Wow. A lot of heart and soul in this game.

Something seems off in my play time tracker, says I've played for 3 days and 7 hours already. No way I've plugged 79 hours already

                      EDIT

also, sign intensity from using greater blue mutagens seems to be bugged.

                      Edit 2

The alternative mode for axii, the mind control power during battle, seems bugged as well

I think you need to hold the button, rather than pressing it, to use the secondary sign effects.

I think I figured it out as I'm the same way....Are you on PS4 and using rest mode? It's the only thing that makes any kind of sense.

I've played a total of maybe 6 hours but it says play time is well over 1 day played. It's the only thing I can think as I've put the ps4 in rest mode a few times after playing The Witcher. I exclusively use rest mode to power down the ps4 as well

I think it just tracks in-game time, guys.

From everything I've read there is no method of finding out exactly how much real-life time you've played.

Edit: Mine says 6 days and I haven't used rest mode since TW3 came out. And no, I haven't played for 130 hours.
