I prepared for that Jenny fight like it was a religious rite of passage. And it still took me several tries but I took her.

This game is at its best when you feel you need to prep for battle. The feeling of victory is intense.

It literally took me an hour to beat her over the course of three attempts.

You can bind stones to armor/weapons and they will remain augmented until you dismantle them via an armorer or blacksmith. Oils will increase weapon strength, but they have a hit number limit. Initially its limited to 20 hits, but you can upgrade them in the character tab.

Geralt was all calm and there was an option to say he knew what Sara was so it calmed everything down quickly haha. The whole thing before you find Sara spooked me a little too, like what was haunting Corrine's dreams looked like something out of the Grudge. Maybe it was Saras bad side? Haha.

Yeah it was pretty creepy. Doors opening on their own and sinister laughing and weird drawings and Geralt being all, "Let's look inside this oven," and then WHAM! LOL! It got me good.

I decided to let her stay in the house and I'm really curious to see if that has any consequences later!

I've found myself, in most cases, taking the "nice road" in those kind of interactions. We will see how it plays out

I ran into some sort of hag in Velen, guarding a hidden treasure on a peninsula. One-hit killed me 3 times before I decided maybe it was best if I came back later. Wow.

Looks like I made the right choice to just run away without trying to fight her yet. There was this other treasure being guarded by some other red skull monster and I was about to run away from there too, when the monster moved away about 30 yards and I ran up and took the treasure while its back was turned. It tried to chase me but I got on my horse and got away. I'll go back and kill it later anyway, just cause.

Question with every new level you achieve, do you guys try to get the best armor available at that level? That's all I've been doing and I'm at level 21 right now. But I feel like when I get to like level 30, I'm just gonna get whatever armor looks the best no matter the level, I should be able to handle myself with any monster by then.

Even the treasure hunts are great. My mission tonight is to venture off and collect the cat armor. And I get...

A wicked cool cave, with some cool monsters, a puzzle, and some cool stories in the books I picked up in the process.

Now I'm on a ****ing ship the sail off and collect the last half of the entry armor. Knowing something cool probably awaits when I get there makes the whole process pretty exciting.

This game is such a triumph.

This weekend I broke the game. Bought the respec potion and this time went with the Medium armor general skill and alternate quen since I'm doing a signs build. I'm level 14 so I have 7 of the 12 ability slots available, with 5 sign skills equipped and two greater blue mutagens. Ho...ly...crap! Alternate quen might as well be god mode. Took some damage in a fight? No problem, use quen, get hit on purpose, damn near back to full health. Between the Griffin armor set, the mutagens, and my weapons, my sign intensity is at 130%. Aard is a guaranteed knock down, igni guaranteed burning, yrden slows targets 50%. I guess it's time for Death March.
