    Re: The Witcher 3

This game excels in some areas that other RPGs fail.

One example I'll give is the quest log and details. The game does a great job of separating the different types of quests and logging any new information.

I think that's a big reason I enjoy the RPG elements of this game. Even if I accept more than I can handle at the present time, I'll always have information to help me out down the line and It's fun to go back and read up on just what all I've accomplished so far.

I hate to keep beating a dead horse, but this game is just really good.

They capture the time period in an amazing way.

Just finished the big fight at Kaer Morhen. No spoilers. All I have to say is this game is simply amazing. Sad with what I just witnessed. But the game's main quests are still not over. If this game doesn't win GOTY at every video game awards ceremony or whatever they have, it's a damn shame. This game is on all platforms, isn't an exclusive so it has to be game of the year. No matter your taste, just play the game and you'll understand why. I'm not even a real big RPG type of player. Only really played Mass Effect and this game has had me hooked since I got it.

      Actually eff that

What difficulty do you guys play on? I believe there are 4 difficulties, correct me if I'm wrong.
I started off on the 2nd difficulty in the beginning and wasn't having too hard of a time, then I changed it to the third and I am getting toasted. I beat the Griffin with this difficulty and it didn't seem too hard but now I'm getting killed by drowners easily. I am still getting used to the fighting mechanics like dodge and roll (I'm only a level 4) but it just seems like I should be beating them by now lol, but maybe I'm wrong. Would just like an input from you guys, and if you have any tips that may help that would be amazing

I started on the 2nd and moved to the 3rd. I've been dominating lately. I'm using a Signs build and with good gear you can do some serious damage. An enhanced Tawny Oil Potion with a leveled up yrden secondary mode, ignii secondary, and quen secondary is a tough combo.

As far as advice. I know it's been said a lot but the bestiary is your for friend. Always research enemy types.

That was my first impression yesterday when I bought the game. CD Projekt Red has a fan for life after that.

Also, the game is really, really, really good.

Finally playing the game again after putting it aside waiting for the patch and also just being kind of busy.

XP seems fixed for me, so far so good. I'm back in Novigrad finishing up the quests from there. I'm lvl 20 and the quests are 12 or lower and I'm getting XP still. That Get Junior quest was satisfying to finish, to say the least.

Performance is definitely improved on the ps4. Frame rate is much more stable so far, everything just smoother. Still dips when certain things load for first time or when a lot of effects are on screen, but much better since launch

Geralt's interaction with the Novigrad champion fighter had me on the floor. "This guy's a dick."

Probably jinxing myself, but since the patch the XP seem to be working fine in my game. Fingers crossed!

That guy beat my ***. I was way underleveled at the time but it was worth it. His jabs are insane.

I advise everyone, and I mean everyone to play on death march. Its one of the less back breaking hardest difficulties in a game Ive played in a while and it makes all the fights so satisfying.

But when I play a second playthrough, Im putting it on the easiest difficulty to get some trophies I unknowingly locked myself out of in my current file.

I'm thinking of moving it up to death march.

As long as you can time your parries the fights are pretty manageable. Unless the timing window is smaller on Death March than Blood and Bones. I would parry and counter with a 3 hit combo. Gorgeous George taught me that lesson though.

Yeah its all about parrying in fist fights, but his jabs more than any other in the game are so fast and if he hits you with one, he goes off on a combo and thats instant night night on deathmarch + 8 levels below him lol.

Btw find the witcher gears in the game. They look and are sooo much better than the random gear you find elsewhere. I looked like a court jester with the different colors I had on before lol. Im focusing on cat gear for my signs build.

I, gonna try all the treasure hunts and get a set of witcher gear

Wish they would have taken a note from AC on better collision detection when walking around people etc. Minor gripe just makes to a more realistic feel.
