Just keep going with it. At first, it can look very confusing and overwhelming. But as I went along I actually learned everything pretty quickly. The only problem for me is that the game is so massive I got burnt out so I haven't finished it yet and I last played in June

True. I'm just hoping that Mad Max doesn't bomb sales wise. Game wise, I think that it will be in my top three this year. Avalanche is a solid development studio and the game looks like a lot of fun and seems to be a good open world game. I'm getting both Mad Max and MGSV but if the opening of MGSV bores me, it's gone.

Witcher is great and my game of the year thus far and I doubt that it gets surpassed but to play it through twice back to back? No way. I would be completely worn out with the game if I did that. Also, im waiting for both expansions to get released before playing through it again.

This might sound silly and like a waste of time, but the best thing I did when getting this game was- playing for about 5-10 hours- and then starting over from scratch. I did it almost as a "super tutorial" if that makes sense. This is a very in depth game, and at first seems overwhelming. I was only utilizing a small amount of the options available because it teaches you everything very quickly, and it's a lot to absorb.

Once I started over with a bit more familiarity with the game and everything clicked, I fell in love. It will take time not because it is difficult, but because there are just so many options, so be patient and it will certainly pay off.

I would recommend just focusing on one area of the game and don't feel like you need to learn everything all at once. It's a very long game, so even if you get to level 15 or so and haven't used all of the options available, you will still have plenty of time to learn them.

Quick question about Death March - is it true that meditating does not replenish your health and potions? If so, that essentially makes it a brand new ballgame. It always felt a little cheap to go battle-by-battle and then meditate afterwards and be as good as new.

Potions replenish if you have alcohol, but health doesn't. Have to use food and potions to heal.

Doesn't replenish health and you have to have some kind of alcohol (Alcohest, Dwarven Spirits, etc) to replenish potions as was mentioned. But this is also true on the 2nd to hardest difficulty, not just Death March.

It really shouldn't be much of a problem once you earn enough money to buy all the food you need. There's only so many enemies that will give you a problem once you're past level ~18. Now if New Game+ fixes the enemy difficulty issue, then that is definitely a whole new ballgame.

Speaking of food, is there any way to consume it more quickly/efficiently? It gets frustrating having to eat one or two pieces at a time and wait for your health to slowly replenish. Sure, it's more realistic, but when you get in a situation where your health is low and you have to wait 3-4 minutes (literally) for the food to do it's thing it gets annoying.

I tried consuming food directly from the Inventory screen (pressing X on XBone IIRC) but it doesn't seem to work well. At one point I drank 25 waters from the Inventory menu and I think my health barely improved.

I always have Swallow equipped and fully stocked if I'm going into a combat situation or venturing into new territory.

You cannot consume food from the inventory menu while in combat, but if you have it hot-keyed it will still work.

Pay attention to the vitality regen. time. From my experience you have to do it one food item at a time as they won't stack or double the amount that is being replenished.

I mostly use swallow unless I have more than half of my health left after a fight. Then I just drink some milk or eat a chicken sammich.

I like using the alternate Quen bubble thing (second row of upgrades), it converts damage to the shield into vitality. Easier to use in battle than consuming items.

The only thing I've found that does stack is water and any food item.
It might work with other liquids/solids.
