Re: The Witcher 3
They're already only 20 a night, but when I rescued them from the Skelligers, the first thing that went thru my mind was "Maybe they'll give me a discount." That's the sort of gentleman I am. Lol!#LFC

Re: The Witcher 3
Just got to Skellige and it was everything I expected. Didn't really play much, but that about to change soon. Decided to read some Character info, and it didn't take long for me to learn that it was written by Dandelion. It a small detail but is quite funny imo. Gonna have to read what he wrote about himslef.Comment

Dandelion is the narrator of the game.Comment

Re: The Witcher 3
So is he narrating from a future point as an older man?
I kept seeing on the loading screens that he was the narrator, but when I met up with him recently his in game voice didn't match.
When you meet him in game he kind of has that upper class affectation to his voice. Almost effeminate, even... But on the story recaps that play during loading his voice sounds deeper and more grizzled.

Re: The Witcher 3
Had no idea there was an alternate movement update for this game.
Now I'm much more excited to give the game another shot in the future."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: The Witcher 3
I'm on level 22 and finally decided to make my way to Skellige. I love how every region has a different look and feel to it. This game is actually starting to reach Red Dead Redemption levels for me.#LFC

Re: The Witcher 3
The downside is the shear amount of time you'll spend playing it. Also, you have no idea on how to do things most of the time.Comment

Re: The Witcher 3
I read a tip somewhere before I started playing that it was supposed to be better, so I've been on alternate from the jump.

Re: The Witcher 3
Alright. So I mentioned that I picked up the complete edition from Best Buy on Black Friday and had no idea what to expect from this game. I got a bit tired with Mafia III so I popped this in a week ago just to get a bit of feel for it. After one week and maybe 4-5 hours of total per day and let's just say that I was supposed to head north to Skellige since Monday. Everytime I head off I just get sidetracked and find myself in some new quest or finding some new town, or entering a new contest or just getting immersed in the world. I think the last time that I was this invested in any video game was probably Fable 3. Just looking at this thread I can tell that I haven't even scratched the surface of this game yet. I'm having problems leveling up, I'm terrible at Gwent, I just finally figured out that you need to read the bestiary. I'm pretty sure that I'm not doing some things that are essential to this game. For instance, I have a bunch of hides and leather straps and rope and wire. What do I do with this stuff. My weapons and armor keep getting damaged, is there a way to prevent this?Comment

Re: The Witcher 3
You can't prevent damage, but you get it fixed at blacksmiths and armorers. Or there are repair kits you find out in the world so you can fix them yourself.Comment

Complete quests, sell your stuff, craft witcher gear, horde repair kits.Comment

Re: The Witcher 3
Did anyone else get a glitch in the "Patrol Gone Missing" Witcher contract? Mine is stuck on Take a Trophy, which is a Wyvern head. I have that in my inventory, so I had to have gotten it. When I click on the mission, the yellow marker isn't showing up in any location. I went to the quartermaster, but he doesn't acknowledge it. I may have killed the Wyvern before getting the contract, but I can't remember for sure. Is that even possible? Am I just screwed on this one? Lol!#LFC
