Re: The Witcher 3
Only problem is though, there's only 1 of those "caves" and from what I seen on Youtube it's supposed to be in there.
When I went in there to get the diagram there was nothing in there...it's the last piece I need too. I believe it's the silver sword....I've reloaded several times to no avail.
I guess it's no bid deal though as I'm sure I'll find something as good or better, but it would've been nice to get the whole set.Comment

Re: The Witcher 3
Skellige Shenanigans:
The Woodland Spirit
Spoiler
I actually played through this on both sides because apparently the trophy only pops when you kill the Leshen.
The first time I ran through and listened to the Elder of the village. This is also the decision I ultimately continued my game with. While he seemed crazy I actually understood the logic in their understanding with the spirit. Sven, while having an overall valid motivation, didn't seem to have actual reasoning behind his motives other than being under the foot of somebody else. That proved true in both decisions by the end of the quest.
I collect wolves hearts and burn them at the alter of the woodland spirit. He gives his apparent blessing and I return to the Elder. After receiving my payment from the Elder Sven comes up with his band of thugs and attacks us. Now, I loaded the game at this game about 3 times because the Elder kept dying. I managed to save his *** somehow and left Sven and his friends lying in the blood and mud.
I thought this was better than the alternative of Sven murdering all of the village Elders, killing/driving his woman out of Dodge, and killing a spirit that has traditionally strengthened the village and its inhabitants.
After that I traveled over to the village of Arinbjorn. There I met Jorund who keeps me out of a barroom scrap and he tells me about the ghost haunting the lighthouse. We agree on a sum and I take up the contract.
The Phantom of Eldberg
SpoilerI hike up the cliff to the lighthouse and actually find the presumed missing lighthouse keep Mikhail. He gives me a minimum amount of information and I wade through wraiths to get to the lighthouse. There I find markings to indicate a curse. I also find a letter to Mikhail detailing his actions in a 'crash boats for loot' scheme.
Upon returning to Mikhail I let him know about this ghost and that his little gig is up. We both hike up the hill and I maintain a friendly conversation with the phantom while Mikhail lights the lighthouse to weaken him. With the phantom dead I banish Mikhail from the lighthouse since he obviously can't be trusted to perform his duties.
After collecting my reward from Jorund the two little ****s who wanted to have me bash their heads at the start of quest return. Jorund and I beat them with barefists before they get all pissy and pull out steel. Unfortunately Jorund receives a fatal wound. Geralt finds himself standing in the middle of three dead bodies in a drinking longhouse. A familiar setting in other words.
Immediately after the events of the previous contract there's a commotion outside. I walk out of the longhouse to see a handful of villagers outside who want my head for the actions I performed in the longhouse. Geralt is essentially arrested and taken for some makeshift trial.
I'm offered a contract for my life and freedom. Seeing little logic in not accepting the contract I agree to the terms of the judge/village Elder and now have a cave to explore.
Its little strings of events like this that really make me love this game.

Re: The Witcher 3
I've heard so much good about this game and I own both the first two games thanks to Steam sales, so I decided to start playing through the first game, then I'll move to the 2nd, and eventually this game. I'm loving the first game already, so I can only imagine how good the 3rd game is.
Hopefully by the time I finish them both, this will also be on sale for some reason. The first two cost me less than 10 bucks.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: The Witcher 3
Reason #872 why this game is awesome:
While exploring the isles of skellige, I ran across a world renowned bounty hunter, Djenge Frett. Jango Fett from star wars? This game is so in depth, and there are so many references to current times, like some of the strippers saying "I'm a material girl in a material world." This game is one of my favorites ever.GT: minibeast100

There's No Place Like Home
SpoilerJust spent a night getting drunk, playing cards, and...crossdressing...with the old boys back home. After I had already put Yen to bed ifyaknowhatimean.
It's things like this quest that really set this game apart from the RPGs that I've played in the past. It did nothing but add life to the characters. This game is reaching my personal GOAT status.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 06-24-2015, 10:32 PM.Comment

Re: The Witcher 3
Really? While some are quite obvious, I find that it makes me laugh more than it distracts from the game. This game has a number of funny moments, from Geralts dialogue to the loading screen saying "don't eat the yellow snow".GT: minibeast100
