Not sure if you're playing with patch 1.04 but I think that the side quests give too little XP. Some I only get 5XP. I'm like...that's it????

Agree with everything you've said and maybe it's just me but I have had more bugs and glitches since Saturday with patch 1.04 then I had previously.

Not going to lie, im enjoying the hell out of the game and im very tempted to buy the expansion pass but with the first DLC due in October and the second due in early 2016, I know that by then, I would have moved on to other games. Wish it wasn't taking that long. Oh well. If early 2016 is slow (except for Uncharted 4) and I don't have anything to play, I could always pick it up again.

With that said, I have two questions -

1) Do you need The Witcher 3 disc to play either or both expansions?
2) Do you need to keep the save file?

I'd assume you'd need the disc to play the add-ons. They're calling them "expansions" to my knowledge so I doubt these would be standalone DLC's, but who knows?

I think the XP is too high for side quests only because I've been leveled too high for the main missions pretty much the entire time. I'm ok with it but I wish the side quests granted less, mainly to keep the main quests a little more difficult.

Ha. Pretty much. That questline is pretty good, though. Takes you through the slums of Novigrad fairly well. I still have the sword on me, but I have never used it. It looks nice at least.

I was absolutely convinced that the priest Nathaniel was the killer. I ended his life instantly when I saw him torturing the prostitute.

Well, come to find out, thanks to an Internet search, he wasn't. The coroner was. Question: Will I get a chance to confront the coroner at all since I made the "wrong" decision? Or will I just have to live with my wrong choice?

Will the coroner continuing murdering too?

The game got me good. That was quite the LA Noire style mystery! I can't believe I guessed wrong! Good job, CDPR.

Has anyone seen both sides to this quest?

Yes, I figured out that it was the Coroner. I forgot what tipped me off but I don't recall seeing the Priest torturing a prostitute. Another spoiler if you want to know my ending with the Coroner.

Turns out the Coroner was a vampire. You end up confronting him in the docks by following the scent of formaldehyde.

That quest turned so quickly. You're happily gathering people for the reopening of Dandelions new diggs and next thing you know you are trying to find out what happened to Priscilla. I blew through that quest so quickly.

I can't say I disagree with a lot of these complaints. The leveling system (I think side quests give too much XP) and the left stick sensitivity especially.

All that said, I've never been more smitten with a game before. Sure it has its flaws, as do my other favorites (TLOU, RDR, etc); which is par for the course with video games in general.

Fortunately for us, CDPR has done some wonderful stuff with their patches and knowing the kind of hands we are in, makes me all the more confident that this game will continue to get its very small wrinkles ironed out over the coming months. That's normally a major bummer, but this game will never leave my collection. I'll enjoy the **** out of it now, and a year or two from now.

It really is something.

Agree on the XP for side quests 100x over. This game is too good to get through quickly and I feel like that is what I am doing by getting too powerful too quickly.

Far too often I end up with quests that I outlevel while they are sitting in my log. Either the cap should be much higher and the quests more spread out across levels or they need to put a uniform number of quests at each level and lower the XP for those that want to do everything.

I understand they want to avoid the dreaded grind but the game is so good I feel myself wanting more of a grind. I don't want to get through this playthrough and start over (although I certainly will).

If their plan is to support this for multiple years I would much rather be able to continue developing my version of Geralt through that world ranter than just restart and redo everything in addition to potential new content.

Now that I type all that I guess what I really want and think this game deserves is I want this game in Destiny's skeleton. Now that in my opinion would be the game of a generation.

I was really hoping Geralt would have referenced the countless bodies when he made his decision, but all I remember him being concerned about is if Whoreson attacked Ciri or not.

So I'm reading online differing things that since I made the wrong choice, the quest may or may not continue? I can't figure out which is accurate. Apparently, if you choose the wrong person, the quest will "complete," but...

I'm not actually sure whether it will or not. Some sites are saying that I may eventually find another body, and thus Geralt will realize he accused and killed the wrong murderer. Some sites are saying this will allow me to continue the mystery by finding a letter from the coroner and also a dialogue option with Joakim, the doctor, telling him the murderer is still out there.

Some are saying that this is just the nature of choice in this game and that I won't get to revisit it at all, using this quest as an example of how the game is open ended and you need to live with your choices. I'm ok with that, but I kind of want to see this quest through if it's possible.

Do any of you own the official guide, by chance? I'm wondering if I'll waste my time later roaming around trying to find another piece of evidence?

Does anyone know one way or the other whether the quest can continue?

Two things I just found out:

Pressing the Right thumb stick down switches between mission objectives from the game screen.

Pressing left thumb stick down in the world map zooms and centers your current objective.

Im starting to think this game is ruining gaming for me. No idea how I could play another game after this one. Its that good, besides sports games, any game in this genre is not going to catch my attention, its just insane how good this game is. Red Dead was the last game I felt this strongly about. I can say it is my favorite game I've ever played.

As amazing as this game is, I'm to much of a Batman fanboy to stay away from Arkham.

Is the play time for this game accurate ?

I thought I saw someone here discussing it early after the release.

Nope, it's bugged and inaccurate.

With patch 1.04 on consoles, its been fixed. I'm over 50 hours which is definitely accurate.

I don't think it lists play time in the pc version, or am I missing it?
