I did The Volunteer quest last night. The rock trollolo songs made me chuckle.

Re: The Witcher 3
Gwent stuff
Spoiler
I honestly don't think my Northern Realms deck can be beaten by anything other than an insanely unlucky draw. If I get both my spies, forget about it. I will either hero them to death or unleash a massive siege assault. I'm sure there are some real stacked decks in the unique card quest in Skellige and the tournament, but right now the merchants have no chance.Comment

Re: The Witcher 3
I finally went to Skellige too last night, but didn't really do much. I was planning on going there a really long time ago, but I really wanted to tie up the main character lines in Novigrad. Things just kept popping up. (Spoiler just to be safe, no specific info)SpoilerThe only one I feel like I haven't come back to is the other Witcher you meet. I forget what quest he's on, but now he has a gwent card I'm supposed to win, so I'll probably go find him before I get too involved in the Isles.
Skellige honestly feels like it's going to be an entire new game. In the very small section I traveled, the scenery and change in elevation made for a nice change of pace. I can't believe there's basically another Velen-sized map to explore. I figured this section would be a lot smaller. And from the first set of ?'s that were sprinkled on the map, looks like I'm in for a lot of sailing. What a game.

Re: The Witcher 3
Man do I feel stupid right now. So I finally get to Skellige, first thing I want to do is finish old low level quests that led there, so first one leads to one of the smaller islands. No problem, I'll just hop in a boat and sail there. It takes FOREVER, all the time I'm bitching to myself how stupid and boring this is. I mean, come on, give us a faster boat or something. I finally get there, do that part of the quest, it leads back to Novigrad and completes. I pick the next low level quest I had that lead to Skellige, look where it is and that's when I notice that the islands are already able to be fast traveled to, you don't need to spend 45 minutes slowly sailing there. D'oh!SpoilerIf you talked to him at the Seven Cat's Inn he'll be in Skellige waiting on you.

Re: The Witcher 3
This week's free DLC is a new Scavenger Hunt for Wolf Gear and an alternative look for Triss.

Re: The Witcher 3
Just hunted and forged Ursine gear, now we get wolf. That's OK, don't really care for how the ursine looks.
Also, something I discovered, if you dismantle a piece of gear to get the glyphs out of it, those glyphs can't be used in crafting. Have 6 lesser igni glyphs in my inventory and can't craft them into higher pieces.Comment

Re: The Witcher 3
Forgot to mention about when first arriving in Skellige
SpoilerWhen you go to the docks and the cut scene starts, I was thinking "oh cool, Viking funeral".
Then that young woman goes down there - I thought just to say her goodbyes. Then they push the boat out and I'm thinking "No, no, don't do that...oh...oh no." Just more feels from this game.
Talk about starting the new act out dark - that kind of caught me off guard. Just figured I'd be meeting up with Yen. Interested to see where this story is going.

Re: The Witcher 3
Had the Region 3/Asian version of Witcher 3 which were late on updates and forced me to make a hongkong account for the DLC. I had purchased the Expansion Pass for the US version too so I had to sell it. Just got the Digital version and apparently all my saves were gone too which is fine because I wanna play through this amazing game again and now they announce wolf armor? Life is good.Comment

Re: The Witcher 3
Yeah, there are two speeds to the boat. Pressing and holding A. Also, you double tap A and hold for an even faster speed. Just like the horse controls.
Made it back to Kaer Morhen. Nice to see the castle again. The layout is almost exactly the same as Witcher 1. Story really picks up here to a point where I don't want to slow down and I also don't want to finish the game to quickly.Comment
