Re: The Witcher 3
Picked this up as well...a retail store had it for online only for $25, grabbed it so it won't be here until next week...
Then this morning I was on PSN & saw it is the same price, digitally...lol
Regardless, I like having the physical copy more than digital anyway (I'm old school like that), and I don't have time to play it - waaaaaay too many games to finish before I delve in.
Happy to finally have this game though - after hearing all about it - I hear it just engulfs you (like Skyrim) - so I'm excited to get into it after the New Year.

Re: The Witcher 3
No. They will automatically load in once you load up any save.
I'm currently level 10 and have completed Ciri's Story in Velen. I'm about to run through Tower of Mice and Keira's "frienship" quests then return to Crookback Bog for Gran. The only gear I've switched out is my steel sword - everything else is from White Orchard.
This game really grabs you hard and you easily lose 20-40 hours in a blink of a eye. "Well, I can go here, but on the way I can do this, and there's this unmarked location close by, and oh another a notice board..."

Re: The Witcher 3
Never played the Witcher series so went ahead and picked up for $25. One thing that is really annoying is the swimming/diving in water. Can't seem to figure out what the controls are actually doing. Outside of that the short time I've played I've enjoyed.
I haven't done much and part of reason is want to make sure I'm not going to waste my time later on and brings me to question I have.
I consider myself an above average video gamer so with that said my question before wasting a lot of time in the long haul is to ask if death March is a mistake and going to end up being more frustrating than fun or is Death March a fair difficulty that's doable and fun?
I don't to tank through the whole game just slashing away , but I also don't want to be getting killed by everything in two hits and spending 2 hours trying to get passed a monster or boss either.

Re: The Witcher 3
Initially I went through on the Blood and Broken Bones difficulty. The main thing is to prepare for fights with your different potions, bombs, oils, and character traits. While in combat parrying (for humans and some animals/monsters) and dodging and rolling are the best defensive strategies. Once I got accustomed to the difficulty it really wasn't all that difficult apart from some quests that I tackled early on.
The main thing is that vitality does not regenerate on the top two difficulties outside of combat. You have to either consume food or drinks or take a vitality potion to restore health.
I'm now going through the game on Death March and once you start leveling up and hunting for better equipment the game feel essentially the same to me as on B&BB. With that said I am preparing to travel to Novigrad. I have been using all the gear I've had since White Orchard because I didn't feel like walking around looking like a patch-work quilt.

Re: The Witcher 3
I'm close to fighting the Griffin and so far not that engaged in the game. The world itself looks awesome but lots of dialogue and details to think of. I may just not be a huge RPG guy even though I love Dark Souls and Fallout 4.
Ill definitely give it more time and see if things immerse me. I know so many people love this game that I have to see why.Comment
