Re: inFAMOUS: Second Son
SpoilerOf course I've been having trouble regardless, but I'm having A LOT of trouble in the battle with Spider Augustine. I've got it to the point where she's lost about a 1/4 of her life (or when you get the final concrete power) and I can get it down to about half way but then always die. I've been trying to beat this part for a day and a half now..it never takes me this long to be a damn level!SpoilerI didn't have too much trouble with her, but I was all the way powered up because I went in with all shards found. Until I got the R2 and R1 weapons, I rolled anytime she was a snake and rolled between her when she is that spider thing. Once I had those two weapons I still rolled anytime she was a snake but blasted her all other times. I just did a regular X jump to the side when she shoots at you to avoid those. Once you have the R1 weapon just use it when you can and use R2 while it's charging back up. Jump and hover when she flattens out and comes at you with the spikes.

Re: inFAMOUS: Second Son
So ive beaten the game, and starting a good play thru. Its a fun game but i feel like they overstated a lot of things, especially in the choice sector, that and this game is on the shorter side of things. Not zeros short, but still about 6-7 hrs to beat, at least theres a lot of side activities, but the side activities largely are similar to saboteur more than anything and just feel like busy work after a while, id say a solid 7/8 its not badm and its fairly technically sound, but its kind of shallow under the extremely pretty exterior. Not enough diversity for my tastes, my opinion may change for the better with this second playthrough.Bulls|Bears|Cubs| Blackhawks|Huskies|Horned Frogs|

Re: inFAMOUS: Second Son
My first Infamous game and I like it. Haven't gotten far but Seattle does look good, its still not SA from GTA5 but its good.
My only problem is that everything feels a little floaty and I like weight when in my control/characters. Coming from AC and especially Ground Zeros, controlling the character feels loose. Also no cover sucks for me but I guess that's just the design.
Overall though, game's good.Comment

Re: inFAMOUS: Second Son
Has anybody uploaded any videos? I did my normal share to Facebook, download from FB, upload to YouTube thing and noticed the video was only 360p. I've done the same thing with other games, but they've all been at least 720p.
I made it to the other island last night and eclipsed 50%. Still enjoying this and am waiting impatiently to do an evil playthrough.

It did take a while for 720p to become an option in Youtube for the video but you can watch it in 720p. Initially I was only getting 360p as the highest resolution but I checked my video a little while later and 720p was available. May need to wait a while until the video is optimized on the Youtube side of things.PSN: ckarlic

Still the cutscenes looked amazing on the game, and the gameplay was a lot of fun like all Infamous games. I like "floaty" style of control in Infamous games unlike a previous player. Games with a heavy control like Assassin's Creed I generally don't like, so that is just a personal opinion of gameplay style for me. Wasn't that hard on the normal difficulty, I think the only boss that gave me issues was the first real boss right on the bridge between the two areas, so I thought that made for a pretty enjoyable first time through the game. I cleared all the districts pretty early on so my guy was fully powered anytime I got new powers because I had plenty of shards to upgrade.
I hope we don't have to wait long for another chapter in the series.

Re: inFAMOUS: Second Son
I figured it out. Apparently you have to hit the HD button on facebook before you can download the link. Should have known.
A short clip of me messing around with Neon including a look at Radiant Sweep:

Man I hate hidden camera missions so much I'll do a Radiant Sweep just to blow up the area so I don't have to look for it
The other side missions I have no issue with...Comment

Re: inFAMOUS: Second Son
There's something about this series that still bothers me when I play it. It's alright this time (hated the first two), but it's never blown me away. The Seattle setting keeps me playing a bit. Admittedly I wasn't all that excited for this anyway. Still kind of feel the same way as when they first showed video of it and everyone was posting gifs. It's pretty to look at, but it's still inFAMOUS.
That being said, I've cleared three districts so far.
The Powers:
SpoilerI thought that Neon and Smoke were pretty well-balanced powers.
Only downsides to smoke were that the knockout ability with a headshot reverts back at the end of the game with the stronger enemies and it was a bit of a nuisance to travel with. Cinder Missle was probably my favorite heavy weapon in the game and I made sure to use Smoke when I had to find the secret agents. After the first two, none of them got more than about 5 jumps away. Most I killed before they could jump. Only did when there were people right next to them. Only problem I had with the L1 attack was that Neon made it pretty obsolete quickly.
Neon was the power I had on the most at the end of the game specifically because it made traversing the city easy. Plus there were sources for it that filled you up completely all around on the ground. The one problem here is this is where those hit detection problems 23 mention show up a bit. Sometimes the leg hit just wouldn't register. Other than in one area (the island before you first fight Augustine) I don't really know how you could even die with this power. It's really easy to get away in the city and heal. The heavy attack was pretty weak though compared to the rest which was my only real problem with it. The L1 attack just made big groups easy. Radiant Sweep was amazing.
Video was kind of overpowered to me once you charged it all the way up. I know eF 5ive didn't care for it, but I thought the invisibility was cheap as hell to use on enemies. It's heavy attack followed anyone that got hit by it, so it made the heavy enemies easier than Neon. Obviously it doesn't have the blast radius of the Cinder Missile though. Traveling with this was easier than Smoke, but not easier than Neon. The fact that the main light weapon was basically a machine gun made it easy to put down enemies I didn't want to subdue. The angel that appeared when you went invisible also helped a bunch. It doesn't hurt that by the time I got this power I had cleared all but two districts. Without it, I could see why a lot of people wouldn't like it really.
Concrete sucked to me. I had maxed it out during the fight with Augustine. Decided to try it out after that and wasn't all that impressed. It resets your special attack if you use it because it doesn't have one. There's no really good way to subdue people. I guess you can run through things, but in this game I prefer to over and around them with Neon. Nice heavy attack, but that's about it. Probably would stick to the other powers if I actually had something else to do.
Game difficulty:
SpoilerI found it really hard to die in this game. I played on Expert and died around 10 times. Four of those came against Augustine in the final fight and I almost didn't die there since I had her on the last bit of life and she finally caught me and I got stuck on a tree when using the rock run. The other three came when she was shooting the concrete because Delsin wouldn't respond to me pressing circle a few times. As I mentioned before, Neon made it incredibly hard to die since you get health back when you subdue someone and you could just run over everything or grab neon which was pretty much everywhere. The soldiers were highly accurate, but since I could usually just go around a corner, it didn't affect me much.
As far as the side mission stuff went, I thought they were all pretty easy, but I looked forward to the tagging stuff the most. I just liked seeing what he would paint. That and shaking the controller with the paint can sound was pretty fun.
I liked some of Delsin's quips, but I thought the story was pretty cheesy overall. I'd probably give the game a 7.5 for a score. But if you have a PS4, I'd recommend playing it with not much being out and I think it's something a lot of people can find more joy in than I did.
Also, I leave you with this picture:

Re: inFAMOUS: Second Son
I do have a slight issue with the game length, I am sure if they were to be confronted about it they would try to say that a second play-through with the opposite approach as the first doubles the play time, but I think that is a little weak.
Other than that, zero issues here. Love the game, hopefully it gets some cool DLC/expansion."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."
