Me too, I'm only at 22% and I've enjoyed the game so far but now it's become a game of me getting my butt kicked all over the ocean.

I'm about to play through Freedom Cry, then I'll probably trade this in. I really enjoyed it, but I haven't played it in about a month or so.

EDIT: How do I access Freedom Cry lol?

EDIT2: Never mind, I found it.

Absolutely loved the main game one of my favorites of the whole series. I am just finishing up the DLC and I have to say I am a pretty disappointed over all. Just really dd not feel complete to me and the story just seemed a bit slapped together. Didn't have as much fun and do not think it was up to the quality I have come to expect from the Assassins Creed Brand.

It took me a while to get into this game, but now I understand the hype. I'm way behind on upgrading my ship, and am paying pretty dearly for it right now.

I feel like the series might be smart to add even more RPG elements into the next game. How awesome would it be to create your own character?

One issue I do take with the game is that I have a ridiculously hard time in stealth (my character always does weird moves when I don't want him to and it blows my cover) and combat is really easy.

This is probably a stupid question, but can anyone fill me in on how to go hunting for a whale?

Buy a whaling boat, buy some harpoons. Look on the map and look for where whales are. You go there, drop anchor in the highlighted circle and go hunting. It is the same way for every ocean creature.

I would practice on sharks first though to get use to hunting in a whale boat.

This was also my first AC game and I get the idea of computer-simulated exploration based on the guy's DNA or whatever, fine, it's weird but whatever. I'm very thankful I didn't have to spend much time in that mode, though - I have thoroughly enjoyed sailing the Caribbean and saw the computer hacking nonsense as unnecessary.

As for advice for ship battles,
-be sure to use ALL your various weapons.
-Upgrade the ship - I didn't spend any money on upgrading Edward until I had the Jackdaw fully upgraded (minus the elite upgrades you need plans for), but get storage upgrades last.
-Don't attack anything where you look through your spyglass and see its level in red.

At first I just got my rear end kicked constantly until I got a couple armor upgrades. Now for the most part I can just mortar a ship until I pull up along side it and wail away with round shot and heavy shot. Be sure to sell your sugar and rum early on because you'll get really good money for it. Eventually you'll want to take down all the forts as well.

I can't for the life of me beat a legendary ship. The damage their ramming does takes me out way to easily. Ship is fully upgraded. Need to come up with a better strategy. I've tried taking them head-on to minimize ramming damage but it doesn't work all that well. They are so much faster, there is no way to avoid getting rammed.

Beating the legendary ships is the only thing I have left to do besides redoing some missions to get the optional objectives.

Each legendary has a strength and a weakness. They aren't all the same and might require a different strategy for each. Figure out it strength and steal clear, find its weakness and exploit it. Example, one of them is heavily armored on the sides. Put some broadsides into the stern though and she sleeps with the fishes.

Gotcha. Thanks for tips. I've only tried to go after the one in the upper left corner of the map.

I'm really close to beating this game, and I think I'm about done playing it. The navy ships at the end are wayyyy overpowered for mine, and it's just getting frustrating. I don't feel like farming the materials for hours, either. Oh well.

Ironically, I had fun with this game in every part except for the navy combat, which I just found super repetitive and frustrating.

Edit: Nevermind, pushed through it and beat the game lol. Solid game, but I had my issues with it. Most were probably a result of me not upgrading my ship early on. Great ending, too.
