I agree with those who say going rogue should be more worth it.

Right now it's just a PvE zone that turns PvP when someone accidentally turns. The penalty for dying as rogue and as non rogue is entirely too high, undermining the whole mechanic.


But I think the biggest reason why people aren't Hong rogue is because the world bosses respawn too frequently. Why ambush somebody when Animal will be respawning in a couple mins and you can get your own loot. On that same token, bosses dropping individual rewards for every player who attacks the boss is also killing the mechanic of rogue. If the loot drops were more limited, people would have a reason to idk attack each other.

The darkzone needs a lot of work and retooling to make it more than a mindless carousel of 2 min boss fights.

I agree. The high penalty for going rogue makes sense if loot was tougher to come by. Everybody at lvl 30 is running around leaving everything below purple behind. We are all in the same boat trying to level our DZ rank for blueprints, or selling/breaking down purples for mats to craft blueprints we bought with phoenix credits. There is zero incentive to go rogue.

Just to piggy back off my initial killing of another agent in the DZ in my first experience:

I had just exited the safe area and had no idea what the DZ was about (I still don't even know much of anything). I was on high alert thinking everyone would be out to kill me. Then I start to hear this alert for an extraction. This is within 10 seconds of exiting the safe zone. I then run to the extraction area not even knowing why. Then I see a guy as I turn a corner and I unload on him...and then I saw him drop a yellow bag so naturally I picked it up. Then there was a rope dangling there so I walked to it and it said press square to extract so I did. I thought I might be picked up by the extraction chopper. Then I ran around for a minute and the rogue alert went away.

I'm up to level 23 / level 8 DZ. I'm going to try and complete all the missions tonight and get close to level 30. I still need to watch videos or read a tutorial on the DZ before I go back in.

I crafted a few high-end weapons from blueprint in the DZ, but ended up sticking with a purple Scar-L as that gets my DPS the highest. I tried just about everything on other guns I have or made, but the purple Scar-L just gets 20K more than any other gun for me. It's talents are +40% accuracy and +19.5 headshot damage.

It's only an item level 30 gun as well

One thing I hate about this game, once you start a session it's hard to stop. I was supposed to log off at 12am so I could get 6 hours of sleep and next thing I know it's 1:30am before I finally log off. Makes it a long day.

32 hours in, level 27 and completed the story. Wouldn't be too terribly upset if gaming ADD claimed it for now until some of my friends picked it up and I started over.

Really want to get 30 thougSh, will pick away at it and eventually try the dark zone.

So I am guessing you have a lot of side missions to finish that will get you up to level 30? Unless I have missed opening some main missions, I am curious how I will reach level 30. I believe I only have 5 main missions left.

Yeah you have to be careful about when you start missions in regards to time. I've lost a good bit of sleep (not as bad as some of you though) because of this, LOL..

So I am guessing you have a lot of side missions to finish that will get you up to level 30? Unless I have missed opening some main missions, I am curious how I will reach level 30. I believe I only have 5 main missions left.

You can re-run the same missions to get exp, like if you beat it on normal then go back and beat it again on hard. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Have you been to all the safe houses and opened all the side missions, encounters and the like? Each safe house has two places you can interact with to open stuff for that area of the map. All of it gives you XP.

Nope, I'm one of good guys, lol. That kid who always talks about pancakes is a kid on my friends list named ghosthawk. He's not a member of OS, so you're safe there!

I added you when I saw you mention your GT either in this thread or The Division crew thread, I forget which one. Always looking for more OS guys to roll with on Xbox One.

Okay just wanted to make sure lol. I will add you also. I'm usually on late after work since I work second. But I'm usually on at around 11 pm central time.


Played some last night and tanned up with another played he was 10 I was 19 so we went through several of his story missions and got him to level 15 without me leveling so we went into the dark zone.

Helped kill a few rogue agents sucks that the last shot when they are down gets credit for the kill as I downed a couple but someone else got the last shot so I'm still sitting at only 2 rogue kills.

Also ended up rogue for about 7 second because he was sniping and someone walked in front of him. He was downed so I started reviving him so someone shot me but I was no longer rogue so he was turned rogue and was killed lol.

But yeah I think that is the problem I have with going rogue. It can happen so easily and the punishment sucks lol. Even worse I am sitting on 14 dark zone keys and don't want to lose them lol.

I don't believe you get XP after playing the same mission again on a different difficulty level. You get XP for the kills, but not completing the mission. I think you only get credits and better loot/drops for playing again on hard.

You should hit level 30 easy. I played most all of the main missions on only normal difficulty. I did every encounter and side misions in each zone, visited all of the safe houses and got the EXP boost from the lockers, and I still hit level 30 before I had even visited Midtown East and before I did the General Assembly mission and maybe even before I did the Russian Consulate mission too.

So by visiting every locker in every safe house, by completing nearly every side missions and encounter (since I still hadn't even visited Midtown East yet) and by doing almost every mission on just normal difficulty, I was able to hit level 30 before I was even done with the PvE portion of the game. Basically, just mop up everything you can. Also pick up all the collectibles you can. They don't give a lot EXP, maybe a couple hundred, but every little bit counts!

I have had the GT Smooth Pancakes since the day I first got my 360, years and years and years ago. This past weekend was the first time I had ever actually thought of changing my GT just because of ghosthawk and how tired I was of hearing him say "pancake" over and over and over.

Funny story about how I got my nickname. I lived in Austin TX when this Xbox Live thing was due to come out in about 3 weeks. A friend from Maddenplanet (a now defunct website) told me that a certain Walmart had Xbox Live boxes out early.

So I hopped in my badass Saturn and went down there and indeed they were on the shelf. I scooped one up and resumed shopping. I noticed that some guy came over and was taking them off the shelf. He said "this isn't supposed to be out for two more weeks or so..".

He then tried to take the one I had in my cart away and put it in his little case. I stopped him and said, uh no, this stays in my cart.

So I went to check out and as per tradition at Walmart there was this super old lady who didn't have a clue about what I was buying. She tried to ring it up and it wouldn't go through. I played dumb. She called the manager and listened and then hung up. She then told me the manager had told her to tell me it wasn't allowed to be sold yet.

I told her "it was on the sales floor and I wanted to buy it anyways". Thankfully the old lady didn't want to get involved in a big "thing" so she just rang it up generic for $59.99 (I think that was the price) and manually typed in Xbox Live on the receipt. This took her about 3 years I think to do and the entire time I knew someone was going to come over and stop her.

She FINALLY finished it and I got out of there like a bat out of hell. Got home and thought "YES! I can get my nickname ODogg!!" promptly typed in ODogg and it was taken. Drat! It figures.

Happened to glance up on my wall and saw my huge Emmitt Smith "Catch 22" poster...so I figured, well that's an easy to remember nickname..the book and all and it has the Cowboys connection. but I'll bet it's not available. Typed it in and VOILA! It was..and that's how I became Catch22...

current stats with primary. just can't get any of my high-end to out DPS this purple scar.
Secondary is 112,020 with Midas.



that play time I image also includes idle time where stayed in the game but not really playing.
