Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)
Did the daily challenge twice, first time got snagged on the timer part but finally finished, second time we dominated it even harder than Lincoln tunnel. Saw some new vantage points. For dark zone I'll use my shield signature but in challenge missions I think the damage one is better.
Props to kearnzo for the assist on the first runComment

Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)
I didn't realize that the point of the dark zone was supposed to be solely to kill other players. That's not what I signed up for
If people want to go satisfy their bloodlust and be able to gank anyone they want at will, that's cool. I hope they make changes so those people are happy, but I also hope I don't lose a whole dark zone level every time I get ambushed by rogues
My perception of the dark zone, from closed beta and onward, was a high end pve area primarily that also has a tense and always present possibility of open world pvp at anytime. I didn't think it would become Team Deathmatch.
Nice strawman. Never said it was soley to kill other players but is it soley to run around holding hands as you kill Cannibal Animal and Shadowshot 5000 times in a row like some robot? They put the rogue system there for s reason and right now there is zero reason why that's even in the game. Just so you can gank the poor soul who accidentally went rogue when some *** jumped in his line of fire?
If you're into soley kombaya gameplay stay out of the darkzone. Right now the darkzone is freaking kindergarten hour with the occasional school fight breaking out.
They need to rebalance it and massive already said their goal in the next update was to get more rogues. So brace yourself.
It's like some of you forgot what the darkzone was suppose to be.Comment

Pulled a Midas from the dark zone, only my second yellow drop after a red dot sight. Saved me phoenix credits from buying a vector blueprint. Not sure if I should wait for a good sniper (dream would be a first wave M1A blueprint) or use that for mod blueprints. Kind of feel like mod blueprints might serve me better.Comment

As I suggested earlier, it would make sense to have a PvP designated area and some objective based PvP modes so that everyone can get their fix. Not sure why it has to be skewed towards either/or.Fino Alla Fine

Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)
When you walk into the darkzone you don't know what you're gonna get/ nice guys, or opportunistic guys. That's the concept. Not knowing others. That tension is the point. One server can be all best friends exploring the world together on snooze mode. Another server could be full of guys who want a pure war zone. Right now it leans outrageously heavily on one side because the penalties are so stiff that people are deathly afraid to even shoot bullets around other players in fear of rogue status. That's just silly. No matter what angle you're coming at this from.
If you don't want any part of PvP whatsoever, what are you doing in the darkzone? If you get ganked, why would that surprise or upset you? That's what you signed up for the second you walked in. Or at least conceptually that is.
I'm not even someone who ganks. I'm a solo darkzone player. So me ganking or initiating PvP is an insta death sentence. But when I see a non rogue group I don't get scared of them. There is no tension. That's because the cost of dying is too high. Nobody is turning.
The cost of dying is simply too damn high. Whether rogue or not, it's too high. Massive will learn this the hard way as more and more players are leveling alt characters, giving them the gear from their safe character, and going on PvP rampages with literally no consequence.
Also, a dedicated PvP section is a compromise they just don't have to make. They're trying something new. Caving in to dedicated arena mode undermines the darkzone concept even more.Comment

I am glad I am only at level 10 because for me, I am not interested in the end game.Comment

Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)
I agree with what you said, Kingkilla, but am confused on your stance.
I think the issue is groups have a distinct advantage. They can literally bully and control sections of the map and make it hell for solo players, lower level/less geared players/smaller groups.
I ran into an issue yesterday where an entire group if rogues sat atop a building and gridlocked the entire block. You got close, you were dead. On top of that we were level 15, they were all 19 and 1 of the other 3 in my group was in the DZ for the first time.
Noe, having said all that, I'm not complaining. It is the DZ after all and that is what happens when you're there...you want to fight NPC's for the good loot, you better expect a human player to be hiding waiting to pick you off and steal your stuff.
Tl;dr - yes the penalties for dying are stiff, no I don't think they should change the dynamic because not everyone likes it. It is a PvP zone, don't want to risk it, don't go in it.

I don't know how the dz goes at that level. I'm speaking about my experience in dz30.
Outside of one server where 3 guys continuously went rogue, I haven't seen much else but hand holding up there as everyone has seemingly declared a peace accord while grinding to 50. Specifically because the exp losses for dying are so significant at high level dz rank. You can lose hours of progress in an instant.Last edited by kingkilla56; 03-18-2016, 07:22 AM.Comment

Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)
Successful night. Completed my first challenge mission through matchmaking on Lincoln Tunnel. Got high end gloves with elite damage, crit chance, and crit damage. Then I ran the daily missions and got a level 31 superior holster with firearms, stamina, and electronics from a random drop, and a 2nd high end mask drop from the boss.

Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)
With all of DZ talk in here lately, the risks and rewards, major XP drops, Rogue agents, etc...etc....It was announced recently (within the past week) that Massive is taking a hard look at the whole DZ experience. I'm sure there will be some significant changes coming. Maybe we should take a wait and see stance on this until changes are made.
