Yeah, I prefer the missions to any other activity so I was doing them as soon as I was within 2 levels of the recommendation, since when I'd wait to hit the recommended level ID notice half my group wasnt that high.

Map is littered with other things to do though, yeah. Will chip away at them.

So I hopped in my badass Saturn and went down there and indeed they were on the shelf. I scooped one up and resumed shopping. I noticed that some guy came over and was taking them off the shelf. He said "this isn't supposed to be out for two more weeks or so..".

He then tried to take the one I had in my cart away and put it in his little case. I stopped him and said, uh no, this stays in my cart.

So I went to check out and as per tradition at Walmart there was this super old lady who didn't have a clue about what I was buying. She tried to ring it up and it wouldn't go through. I played dumb. She called the manager and listened and then hung up. She then told me the manager had told her to tell me it wasn't allowed to be sold yet.

I told her "it was on the sales floor and I wanted to buy it anyways". Thankfully the old lady didn't want to get involved in a big "thing" so she just rang it up generic for $59.99 (I think that was the price) and manually typed in Xbox Live on the receipt. This took her about 3 years I think to do and the entire time I knew someone was going to come over and stop her.

She FINALLY finished it and I got out of there like a bat out of hell. Got home and thought "YES! I can get my nickname ODogg!!" promptly typed in ODogg and it was taken. Drat! It figures.

Happened to glance up on my wall and saw my huge Emmitt Smith "Catch 22" poster...so I figured, well that's an easy to remember nickname..the book and all and it has the Cowboys connection. but I'll bet it's not available. Typed it in and VOILA! It was..and that's how I became Catch22...
Yep I remember these times as well, was working at EA tiburon on madden 04 and 05 in QA so knew the 360 was coming. Im a big UGA fan so when live started tried to get some more recognizable UGA traditional names, no such luck, but as a kid remember our famous radio announcer for games, Larry Munson, and his colorful language and using Hunkerdown in describing the defense needing a big stop. Typed in Hunkerdown, Available!!! Woohoo, was so excited not to have some name with multiple numbers and symbols like you see now. So another original Live GT from the beginning. "Catch 22" is an excellent book as well, thought that was the reference, haha.

I wonder when I see really high DPS like that, do you have accuracy on some of your weapon mods? I've noticed accuracy tends to inflate DPS although it doesn't actually increase damage.

that Scar-l has a talent that give +40% accuracy. the other talent boost headshot damage by 19.5%
weapon mods boost stability and accuracy for most. scope increase range and headshot damage I believe. mag increase rate of fire and mag size.
I've notice stability doesn't do anything to DPS rating. I tend to focus on getting that high on most guns if I can. If i went all DPS, I got it to around 145K I think.

It's based damage is not bad either. I think only the high-end black market AK-74 I have beats it when it comes to assault rifles. I think I just got a really high roll for that item level 30 purple scar. It shoot very well and the accuracy meter is near maxed out. I can get better DPS number if i put on a 15x scope, and a few other mod focusing on accuracy boost, but didn't really want that.

I played around with multiple guns, high-end Tactical ACR, high-end Liberator, High-end black market AK-74. but none really felt as good as that scar.

my Midas, tried to focus on the critical hit % probably could get higher DPS with other mods. it actually has more base damage that the scar, despite my gloves giving me a boost to Assault rifle damage.

But I think the biggest reason why people aren't Hong rogue is because the world bosses respawn too frequently. Why ambush somebody when Animal will be respawning in a couple mins and you can get your own loot. On that same token, bosses dropping individual rewards for every player who attacks the boss is also killing the mechanic of rogue. If the loot drops were more limited, people would have a reason to idk attack each other.

The darkzone needs a lot of work and retooling to make it more than a mindless carousel of 2 min boss fights.
I didn't realize that the point of the dark zone was supposed to be solely to kill other players. That's not what I signed up for

If people want to go satisfy their bloodlust and be able to gank anyone they want at will, that's cool. I hope they make changes so those people are happy, but I also hope I don't lose a whole dark zone level every time I get ambushed by rogues

My perception of the dark zone, from closed beta and onward, was a high end pve area primarily that also has a tense and always present possibility of open world pvp at anytime. I didn't think it would become Team Deathmatch.

I'm with you Jarebear, it's not intended to be a PvP zone, it's intended to be a PvE zone with the ability to have PvP if someone wants. They definitely should NOT update the game to encourage more player killing..

                        Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)

So I wrote a long (not super long, like 5 paragraph) review of my time with the game so far, basically just talking about how much I like the game, and I decided not to post it. Figured it would come off as long winded and excessive.

Bottom line is I really like this game. Its not perfect. If I was to give it an objective review for how I think it could appeal to everybody, I would give it a solid 8.5. If I have to give it a score based on solely how the game appeals to me personally, I give it a 9.5.

I've reached 120 hours played, and I can see myself going 120 more (easily) just to get all the gold blueprints I can find, and that's just launch content. Probably another 120, and then another 120, so on and so on, for all the expansions.

I only have two real gripes. One of them is a little reasonable, one of them is dumb and just a "me problem."

The "me problem" is I hate when games put a ceiling on leveling. I played Diablo 3 and ESO more than I should have because of the endless leveling system. This game could do the same thing, add "paragon leveling" where you can continue to progress your character in super small bits, like .5 percent increase to disrupt resistance, grind another level, .5 increase to reload speed, etc. they could still keep players in brackets based on their "paragon levels" to keep it fair for the new 30s.

Again I acknowledge this isn't a real gripe, just a pipe dream/personal gaming preference of mine. Typically I struggle to invest in games that only offer a gear grind, but this game is so much fun I'm on board and fully into it for the long haul. I've already passed my time spent in Destiny.

My other gripe, that I've seen in a couple reviews and agree with, is I wish there was more to endgame than just dailies and dark zone. I wouldn't call it "shallow," necessarily, but I just want more. The game is so good. I acknowledge that a lot of content is on the way to expand on endgame/new altogether activities, so it's all good.

Initially I was going to gripe about progression speed, but I realize that it's not Ubis fault that I plugged 100 hours in the first week. That's a long time in gaming and a lot of people will spread out 100 hours out over a much longer period of time. It's probably impossible for ubi to scale a game to fit both "all day gamers" and "an hour a day gamers."

Anyway, I'm so thankful for this game, and for the people who let me play it with them day to day. I'm not a super happy guy right now in the real world but my daily team adventures give me something to look forward to. Hope to keep seeing other OSers in my group list as we continue to take back the streets day by day!

Good stuff, Jare. one of my concerns is once I reach Level 30 and Level 50 Dark Zone, then what? Kind of a rinse repeat, but not a lot variety. I am sure DLC will help some. I have played a lot less than you, almost 40 hours, but one thing that is certain, I am having a blast. Even if some of the missions feel the "same" my fun level is still sky high and I lose hours into this game and can't wait until the next time I can get on. I just hope it has enough to make me want to come back once I reach end game.

Ha! That was a good story! Reminds me of how much I loved those little old ladies every year during NCAA release time around July. A couple times I was able to snag an early copy thanks to someone putting it out a little too early and a little old lady at the cashier stand who didn't know better.

God I miss those times. NCAA was the only game I would actually intentionally drive anywhere from 20-60 minutes one way just to try and get a copy of a game as early as the week before release so I could gloat about having it early and play it all weekend before release while my friends were forced to see NCAA Football next to my name on their friends lists.
