Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)
so many posts like this is the bets game in years and I'm here sitting like what??
Theres nothing special about this game. I do enjoy it and time flys by when you play it but I don't think it is even close to being one of the bets games. Theres just not much variety here. Grinding for items and doing same type of missions will get boring sooner than later. There needs to be a lot more things to do for me to claim this game being one of the best.Comment

Good luck, me and my group tried it and got to the front of the power plant only to be destroyed instantly. We need some better gear. 2 of us bought the Vector last night and 1 got the Midas to drop (jealous) so hopefully we get some more good gear soon to attempt them.

Two big keys to challenge missions are crowd control (sticky bomb flash bang, smoke seeker mine, etc) and finding vantage points where, other than grenade spam, you are more safe from the mob"Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

And I've heard the same said about Diablo. This is a loot based game, either that gets you going or it doesn't. It does for many of us.
Building a character, selecting their strengths and weaknesses, trying to maximize our gear, all of it is what drives us.
Now maybe that's not your cup of tea, but honestly you really do need to play for a bit to ensure that.
I had a friend who wasn't that enamored with the game at launch and said the same thing. I was worried he'd give upon it so I joined his game and we've played for about 8 hours for a few days straight now and he's a JUNKIE.
Again, its either something you like after you've tried it or you don't.
As for my opinion? Not just the best game this year, best game this generation (besides Diablo of course heh)..
I've had more multiplayer fun, and just more fun in general, with this game than any other since last generation. I'm McLoving it!!Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)
I miss that feeling, pit in my stomach feeling when I first walked into the darkzone. I was alone, a nervous wreck. Saw my first player run right past my face. Almost had a heart attack and was upset with myself that I let myself be detected so easily by another....as the hours passed, the nerves got calm, heart was steady, breath went to normal....apathy. There was no action. It became routine. Go kill the sports store -> the library -> the fueling station -> Bryan park -> the subway underneath Bryan park -> the contaminated zone -> extract on roof on parking lot, rinse and repeat with the mega group that runs together. That's what the darkzone is now for me personally.
But every once in a while, hunting rogues my heart races again like it did that first time I walked into the darkzone. That's a feeling I'm chasing right now in The Division. That's why I want more rogues. I want the dz to make me scared and nervous again.Comment

Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)
For dark zone I use the shield so I don't get melted by a rogue ambush before I can counter,
For challenge mission so use the damage buff. Very valuable tool especially when timed right with the group and what kind of mob is in front of us.
I only use the flashbang sticky in challenge missions, otherwise I use the proximity mod for the range and recharge time"Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)
Went into the DZ as a level 19 in the regular and it was humbling. So many white bars. They just kept coming.
Also the first person I encountered Was another human. I panicked and killed him while he was trying to extract stuff. I then stole his items and extracted them. Nobody killed me while rogue or tried.
I feel like I shouldn't take crafting or anything seriously until I hit level 30. Feels like a waste because I just get rid of the guns and even if I really like them they are too weak when I level up.

Level 19 now and have 3 or 4 purples equipped right now but no weapons. Took me till level 17 or 18 before I got my first blue pistol lol. Was using a blue level 16 vector for awhile but got a blue police t821 that seems to be leagues better but I think it is a level 19 also.

what the hell is a bets game?

Now are they going to open the rest of the map or is this all we get for $60?Comment

Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)
Don't think that The Division is the best game this gen (that goes to The Witcher 3 imo) but I do think that it's an excellent game and the main thing that it has going for it is that it's highly addictive. I came home from work around 12 last night, went online like I normally do and after a while, wanted to play which I did from 1am to 4:30am and the only reason I stopped is because I received some kind of error that kicked me out of the side mission I was doing.
I'm playing solo and have been fully enjoying this game. Seriously, when im playing, I don't want to stop whatsoever. LOL. My friend was playing with his buddies online and have a good amount of fun but he's the type who prefers story driven linear games as opposed to open world. But his friends who didn't like the game at first are now addicted to playing it because it's simply a lot of fun to play.
The gameplay, cover system and gunplay is all excellent in my opinion and that makes me want to play it more and more.
For those who think it's boring or nothing special, let's be honest, anyone can say that about any game this gen. People complain that there's not a lot to do in The Division but yet look at MGSV...it's the same damn problem. A few different side ops that have stacks of the same thing in each one. Every game is repetitive period and it simply comes down to "are enjoying what you're doing to keep doing it". For me with Ubisoft, the answer is easily a yes and thus, I have no problem going through ten virus researches or ten strongholds or whatever. Add in the fact that the main story missions have all been excellent, long, hard and challenging and yeah, im definitely looking for more and more of what im currently doing.
As for that horrible IGN review, I wouldn't be surprised one bit if it was based off the Beta. LOL. Of course, I don't really care about anyone else's review except my own and as of right now, The Division is easily a 9/10 for me personally and unless the game falls apart in the next 40% that I have to complete, I don't see that changing.
What an excellent year thus far for me, Dying Light: Enhanced Edition, Far Cry Primal, The Division, Quantum Break and Uncharted 4 all within four months of each other. Arguably the best first half of any gaming year ever. At least for me anyway.Comment
