What would be the purpose if there were no repercussions? It would literally be an extension of the other half of the game, thus defeating the entire purpose.

Most of the complaint's I see are from people who want a single-player experience and want to be able to get the loot without encountering other players. I just don't see why Ubisoft should break from their mold to appease people who don't like it. Nobody is forcing anyone to play it. It just happens to be the other half of the game.

It may not be a 1:1 comparison, but I'm going to use Destiny. IB and Crucible and the other PvP modes offer gear different from that of raids/strikes/story. How is it any different? Its not. It may be different in the way you que up for PvP matches, but in the end it is the same. You want the gear offered there you have to play it (DZ). Just so happens that the entire purpose of the DZ is that other players fill the world and you can be attacked at any time and that gear is at risk.

This fact does not make it unfair to those who do not like PvP. It just is what it is.

Yeah, but the gear I can get in DZ, I can use outside of DZ. That's the problem to me. You've got players, you're playing with that have higher end gear than you're able to obtain.

To me, I don't see the appeal in going in there, and fighting my you know what off against high level baddies, killing, scavenging etc. earning gear, only to loose it. The battles are epic in DZ. I enjoy the challenge, I don't enjoy the fact that while waiting for extraction, you're up against AI baddies, and pretty much always seem to get snuck up on by a rogue, or someone waiting to extract with you goes rogue in the middle of a firefight when it's easy to pick guys off and steal, then extract yourself. As someone with not a lot of time to play, all the satisfaction that I just gained from fighting the good fight in DZ, is lost, and it's a giant waste of time.

So, I get it, there has to be incentive to go into the DZ and play, but the loot is useable inside, and outside of DZ. So, why not let me go in, fight, pick up drops, scavenge, earn gear. If I make it to extract my gear... give it to me ASAP. If I don't make it out with my gear... just give me an expensive blueprint for it. So, I at least salvage something from my experience, and time there. So, I still get the reward of fighting some epic battles, and having ACCESS to the gear... If I, and my gear make it out alive, awesome for me. If I don't make it out... not so awesome for me, but at least it's not an entire waste of time because I still have the opportunity to use my in game credits from fighting in and out of DZ to "purchase" said gear.

What it comes down to for me, is effective use of time. Sorry, but coming away with nothing from participating in a main component of the game (killing, scavenging) is just a giant waste of time. It's fun, sure, but it's pointless. So... if you work with something like I suggested, at least those of us who just don't have the time, or maybe not as much skill, at least have the opportunity to restore some balance.

No qualms with your take on the DZ. But to ME, everything you just described is not an issue with the DZ itself, but the lack of content in the rest of the game.

Unfortunately at this point, if you want what is offered in the DZ you'll have to endure it to get it.

          Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)

This was by far one of my favorite moments in this game. You can see I thought someone was going to try and start something because I pulled up some incendiary rounds so that if they wanted to fight they weren't going to be able to run. But when the guy started walking up on me I just had to wait for him to pull the trigger. I was just lying in wait for him.

It's almost like the rest of the group either didn't know what their buddy was about to try or thought he could handle it on his own. They all ended up paying for his mistake with their lives and two lost all their loot. Granted it was worthless.

I would have paid to hear their headset communication before during and after but I was in tears anyway just imagining it.

If the DZ becomes even MORE rogue friendly, I'm pretty sure I'll never even try it out. Lol. Once I get to level 30 and complete the game on single player I had planned on venturing in there. Despite it being tough solo, I've heard it's certainly still manageable. If I have to start worrying about every human player going rogue because it's more beneficial for them to do so, then no thanks.

There is only 2 things I would change to the dark zone. One I don't think you should go rogue until you do at least 50 percent damage to another player because I feel at that point you are trying to kill them. That will also help with the cross fire things sending people rogue.

The second I would change to help those that are rogue would be the skull above their head would only be visible if you are in sight line of them. And on the map I would make a purple circle or some color. Probably not red due to that usually indicating a contaminated area.

But I would make the circle indicating the area they are in but not pinpoint them. The bigger the bounty and the more time you have the smaller the circle easier to find but as time ticks away the circle would grow larger making it harder to locate you unless they have eyes on.

The circle would also continue to move but always keeping the rogue inside the circle to prevent people from just trying to locate the middle of it.

That's the thing, going rogue isn't supposed to be good. It isn't supposed to be something where there are a couple dozen rogues running around freely killing everyone they come across whenever you're in the Dark Zone. It's supposed to be high risk, high reward.

High reward in that you get XP for killing players and lots of XP if you can survive your timer/manhunt, as well as any loot you pick up from those you kill.

Yet high risk in that if you die as a rogue, it's gonna hurt like a bitch in regards to XP loss and possibly level drops.

Some people seem to want it to be all reward, no risk for going rogue.

I like the 50% damage thing you suggest, or something maybe a little lower, a way to circumvent the cheesey tactics the trolls like to use. I've gotten better with my situational awareness when there are other human players around. Don't think I've caused our squad to go Rogue one time since the full game released, but sometimes things get so hectic I'm sure it will happen at some point, just not intentional.

On an unrelated note, I'll likely be online this weekend.

I had planned a full four day hiatus from The Division due to March Madness (have had nothing but basketball on both the TV and tablet from noon to midnight since yesterday), but, thanks to Michigan State sucking it up and, as a result, my bracket taking it up the ***, I'll likely just be watching the close games on my tablet the rest of this weekend and use the TV for other stuff.

Yeah, they absolutely have to change that. Just grazing someone with accidental fire or these troll Douchebags who try to intentionally walk into your line of fire for a half a second should not cause you to go rogue.

I feel like the thing to help the DZ is solo and group servers. You go solo you are grouped with other solo agents you group up you are placed with other groups. I get a kick out of guys that (with reason) have big balls when it's 2,3,4 vs 1, but shrink up when it's 1v1 or 2v2 etc....

Not gonna lie, I'm a little disappointed as well.

At least the gold holster I have been grinding to dz 50 is still there, I guess
