Re: The Order: 1886
I have limited play time with a newborn in the house but I'm picking this up tomorrow. The only things the reviews did for me is make my purchase a disc version instead of download. If this take me 10 hours to finish, that's perfect time.PS3, we had a good run! (7/18/09-10/5/14)Comment

Re: The Order: 1886
I'm disappointed in the reviews. Hopefully there is more to the game. If not, oh well. Disappointed as in I was hoping for higher review scores considering I preordered the collectors edition. Hopefully it's worth collecting lol

Re: The Order: 1886
Of course I have a choice if I want to buy the game. I definitely still want to play the game, I think the game looks like fun. I'm not going to rent it and put myself on a clock to beat the game. But it appears to be a game not worth full price, so that's why I mentioned that I got it at a discount by purchasing from Best Buy and hopefully when I'm done with the game it shouldn't cost me more than $10-$15.

I'm still gonna purchase. I'm a extremely slow gamer. For what the normal gamer takes to complete a game I almost always take double that amount. Gonna enjoy what the game has to offer and "keep it moving"

Re: The Order: 1886
As I said before this game is the game I have been looking at since the announcement of the ps4 and I already bought and downloaded digitally. I have never been one to go off reviews but must say a little disappointed after hearing all of this. Well I am sure I will still enjoy it and don't look bad at those who choose to skip it or buy down the road. I know for me it will take a while to beat as I only game about 24 hours a week on average. And with dying light, far cry 4, nhl, and cod plus the order my game plate is full. Will give some feedback tomorrow but if I beat this game by the time I go to bed in the morning I will feel extremely ripped off.PSN:LeftCoastGamer

Re: The Order: 1886
I don't really pay that much attention to reviews, but the last game that I bought that despite having bad reviews was Murdered: Soul Suspect and I should have listened to the reviewers on that one.
I'm sure this game will be better than Murdered: Soul Suspect (I don't see how you can't get much worse honestly), however between my Madden Online CFM, NBA 2K and GTA I don't really have time for a new game right now. Heck, I bought Shadows of Mordor on Black Friday and it's still in the wrapper.
I will definitely pay attention to what OSer's have to say about this game though. If the action and pacing are good then I don't mind about it being on the shorter side or being linear, etc. I actually prefer linear games since they usually tend to tell better stories and provide better action scenes. However, if it's "boring", then I wouldn't even want take time away from my other games to spend the five hours it takes to speed through it.Last edited by jeremym480; 02-19-2015, 10:59 AM.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: The Order: 1886
Reviews are awful but I've long stopped caring about reviews.
Two games that were greatly reviewed (Far Cry 4 and Dragon Age Inquisition) were mundane and repetitive in my opinion. Not saying they were awful games, but I simply did not enjoy them.
I'll judge The Order myself when I'm playing it. If it's not a good game, I'll say so and return it. If it's a great game, I'll rave about it. But know those will be my opinion based on what I like to play."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: The Order: 1886
I picked the game up yesterday and so far have enjoyed it. Its very linear and theres a lot of watching. lol. But everything seems to be done at a high level. The visuals are almost worth the price of admission. My wife is loving watching me play this one.
I think as a gamer it's definitely an experience. As a value. I don't know. If the money is an issue probably should wait. Doesn't seem as if it's gonna offer any replayability.
But im not finished. Just about 3 hours in.Comment

Re: The Order: 1886
I think with those reviews I might wait on this one. I don't 100% trust game review sites, but those are pretty low scores, and I could spend the money on something else...Comment

Watching a stream of this on the PS4 right now. Guy in a boss fight. Looks pretty cool.
The guy streaming is PS_4Trophies. He is really praising the game.Last edited by PhilliesFan13; 02-19-2015, 11:32 AM.Comment
