    Re: The Order: 1886

Changed my mind on purchasing. Went to buy some supplies from the NEX, gave 5 dollars to some charity and they gave me a scratch off.

It was good for $20.00 off so I decided to go back to the games and the game was on the rack new for $49.99. I'm not sure why, they are usually over priced on base.

I'm weak.. Maybe I'll find some time to play it with my busy schedule and all ready insane amount of games I can't play.

It is a wonderful game it has a cinematic touch to it the story rely on the cinematic and the game play length is small the game is detailed and beautiful.

              Re: The Order: 1886

Currently on chapter 11. Playing on hard. Died in the teens thus far due to one particular regular enemy. Total play time thus far is 9 hours 45 minutes thus far. Will give my own personal review once I complete the game. Can say that thus far, on a scale of 1-10, visuals are a 10/10, music/sound/voice acting is a 9/10, story is a 9/10 and the gameplay is an 8/10. Unless the story bombs which I doubt since it's been getting better as im going along, this game is going to be a 9/10. Granted, have to wait to see the rest of the story, the ending and if there's a final boss fight and if so, how it is. 9 may be a little high but I definitely think that this game thus far is closer to a 9 than a 7 in my opinion. And considering the fact that im actually playing through The Order with the black bars is saying something since I didn't do this with The Evil Within as I lowered the PS4's resolution to 480p in order to zoom in the game and eliminate the black bars. Difference though is that The Order's camera and aiming isn't as zoomed in as it is in The Evil Within but that black bar on the top hurts at times a lot because it cuts off enemies from you getting a better view. Funny thing is that if there were no black bars at all, not only would this negative not exist, the field of view would be better and I think that the game would look even better if that's even possible.

I would NOT compare this game to Gears of War as the only thing The Order has in common with it would be that it's a third person team based shooter but The Order isn't as action packed but when the action is on, it's excellent. Game feels more like The Last Of Us than Gears. You can tell that Ready at Dawn used Naughty Dog's classic as a huge inspiration which is definitely a good thing in my opinion.

If it wasn't after 4am already, I would keep playing but ughhh, time to go to sleep. LOL.

So yeah, 4.5 hours later I'm just now putting the controller down...

Playing on hard, and I'm just thru chapter V. Anyway, I have a lot of impressions and thoughts, but I'll reserve those for tomorrow. I don't know the last time I was up this late (early) playing a game!

I love the tie-in to historical events, and the science references...

I had a strange feeling that this would be one of those games to get slammed in reviews, yet once the consumers got their hands on the game, the tune would change. Seems to me that everyone is enjoying it thus far.

Making it REALLY hard to not go out and pick it up. I told myself I wouldn't buy another game with Bloodborne dropping soon, but I may have to if you guys don't stop praising the damn game .

It's still a fine line. I'm enjoying it however, my 16-year old son did not. He didn't like the pace and restrictions. And my 18-year old has no interest. Well, yet that is.

I'm just over 5 hours and at the half way (chapter wise) of the game. How someone beat it in 5 is beyond me.

The story is outstanding. As someone who loves TellTale Games and Life is Strange, The Order is right up my alley. And the graphics, wow. Continuously impressed with how good it looks.

With all that. If you're in the fence. Wait for a price drop. It's not a $60 game for everyone. That's something you have to decide. There will be no replayability outside of wanting to experience the story again. Everyone judges and values their money and experiences differently. But for a new IP I'm loving every second of it.

yea,I wouldn't think that a game like this would appeal to the younger folks.
IMO,games that feature non stop action would usually be the better option or games with MP.

Not saying your kids are like this, but knowing my kids (24 and 22) that's exactly the reason why they wouldn't like it,the story would be of no interest to them.

As far as myself goes,I'm getting burnt of the shooters and really needed a game like this that not only has some shooting but uses the story to push it along....in other words the shooting isn't the main focus finally.
People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.

                          Re: The Order: 1886

I decided to put everything else on the backburner and dive into this game.

I finished it in 6 hours and 45 minutes on the default difficulty. I haven't powered through an entire game in years, but this one was a blast. The graphics, story, weapons, gameplay, etc.. all phenomenal. This is the first game that truly unleashed some of the power of the PS4 graphically. I couldn't put it down, despite thinking I wouldn't even have time to play it at first.

I was constantly hitting the screen shot button on my controller. The crazy thing is, I've had several people come in my room throughout the night and ask me what I'm playing, then get disappointed when I said it was a Playstation exclusive. They would want more information on what the game is about, but I really can't put it into words that describe it fairly.

As for whether someone should purchase it, I think it's case by case. I would probably lean on the side of holding off for a price drop. I could see someone stretching it as far as about 10 hours with a harder difficulty. Multiplayer with this game could have been on the level of some other third person games like TLOU. There's definitely room for it. If I wanted to dump it off, there are some people on my ship that mentioned it that would definitely pay close to retail for it..

It seems like a pretty reasonable Platinum to get as well for any trophy hunters out there who may want to pick it up down the road on sale.

Putting comparisons between price and story length aside and just judging the story, characters, graphics, music, and gameplay this game would get a 9/10 from me.

Got to play for the first time this morning. Just finished Chapter One. Graphics are unbelievable. Definitely the best I have ever seen. Interesting story. The only thing I'm not really a fan of is the shooting. Aiming feels weird to me. Definitely trying to take my time and make sure I don't miss anything. Should be able to dig deeper into it over the next day or two.

I'm finding the longer you play, the more you get into the game. The first bit can be slow. Once you adjust to how the game is meant to be played, your expectations change from Gears of War pacing to Last of Us pacing and, for myself, I couldn't put the controller down.

For anyone on the fence, and if I was as well, I mentioned earlier in the thread...grab a physical copy, play through it in a week or less, trade it in for a high (by Gamestop or Best Buy standards) credit and you're essentially getting two games for the price of one and a half.

Its historical fantasy mixed with historical fiction and hopefully, in future games, they stay around this time period because it is an underutilized era. Dishonored was kind of the last game that took place around this time period.

I picked it up yesterday, only have played for about an hour but it seems to be fun so far. Just the beginning firefight is pretty cool, the graphics are hands down the best I've ever seen in a videogame.
