No I think you're right and that part was very cool. The issue I took was that scene was just so abrupt. It's over in about 10 seconds once you start moving. After that it's still interesting and seems to be setting up other events in the story. It's just that compared to all the other instances I mentioned going back to final fantasy 6 it just felt underwhelming. It lacked that Wow! Factor or "OMG!" moment I always get from the initial sequence in FF. I mean look at FF12. The game play starts out a bit slow like this one but that was after watching a 5 minute scene where we watched a city fall under an epic siege. Or FF8 she we start off with some chilling scene and the narrator is asking if we will be there and ending in an intense battle between 2 characters we meet almost as soon as the real game starts.
I definitely want to know what happened to get to the point we initially see in 15, but it didn't have the same impact or jump you into the story as fast as other FF titles. Kind of unfair to compare the any game in the series, but instantly being engrossed into the games universe is just something I have come to expect from the series.
