No I think you're right and that part was very cool. The issue I took was that scene was just so abrupt. It's over in about 10 seconds once you start moving. After that it's still interesting and seems to be setting up other events in the story. It's just that compared to all the other instances I mentioned going back to final fantasy 6 it just felt underwhelming. It lacked that Wow! Factor or "OMG!" moment I always get from the initial sequence in FF. I mean look at FF12. The game play starts out a bit slow like this one but that was after watching a 5 minute scene where we watched a city fall under an epic siege. Or FF8 she we start off with some chilling scene and the narrator is asking if we will be there and ending in an intense battle between 2 characters we meet almost as soon as the real game starts.

I definitely want to know what happened to get to the point we initially see in 15, but it didn't have the same impact or jump you into the story as fast as other FF titles. Kind of unfair to compare the any game in the series, but instantly being engrossed into the games universe is just something I have come to expect from the series.

I've only done the tutorial and killed the first big rodent, but found myself wishing I had a hoverboard or something, lol.

Having fun with it, wondering at which point it will feel like a Final Fantasy game though, but not sure if I'd recognize that when it comes, it's been so long.

Im almost possitive once we unlock Chocobo riding, the game will open a lot.

Same with Aeons/Guardians or whatever they are called in this game.

I was playing a little bit last night before I fell asleep. I must say I sort of like having people with you when you fight but then it seems like they do all the killing and only leave you with one enemy. that I don't like but kinda like just cuz the computer does all the fighting for you lol. but overall I can't wait to really play this game. I bought this cuz I was tired of me playing my usually sports and shooting games. happy I pick this as my story game.

Snagged this along with the CE Strategy Guide. Decided to step out of my comfort zone and try something totally new for me and having about a hour of gameplay in I can tell I'm going to enjoy this.

                Re: Final Fantasy XV

Chapter 1 took me 3 hrs and I felt that I played quick even at that pace I'm on track for a 40 hr adventure as there are 15 chapters in total

My impression of the game so far? As far as it's open world the weather feel linear and scripted unless I again am going to fast?

Night time traveling on foot is a no no and is BRUTAl even when playing on easy

As far as plot. Nothing has gripped me yet. There no "ohh this is happening so this is why your doing it " it more like" "we have to save the dwarf!" And I'm there like who's Edward and why do I care?

So it feels unengaging so far. Comparatively to other ft game I have no clue as I stead clear from this series usually but since it's a big whoppteedoo I'm rolling with it

Again. After 3 hrs it's ok. Def a great graphically and the combat is real fun I'm just not emotionally attached or interested in the plot

Wish there were things like body armor or different clothing you can get been spoiled with my recent resurgence with skyrim and of course my newest standard for open world games watch dogs 2

Every game is different I get that but I'm super picky in what I sync my time into after sports games(spelling error on purpose lol)

The game music is SO gran turismo though. I like it in gran turismo NOT
In FF15. Soft jazz playing is annoying to me. It's like their pushing the adult
Ultra refined on me. But that's a personal pref. In hindsight I thought that the music in Zenoblade chronicles for the Wii was amazing and thought the music in xenoblade chrinicles X was horrible and that alone made me stop the game
At least here with final fantasy 15 it doesnt

You can change the music. I usually have FF 7, 8 and X music playing while driving.

This is just about the first FF game I have played since the original 25 years ago. The battles have changed quite a bit. They are much more frenetic sometimes I feel I have no idea what the hell I'm doing. I miss the old turn based game but I will keep playing.

If you haven't already, turn on wait mode. Everytime you stop moving it'll pause the action and you can get your bearings on what to do next, issue commands, drink pots, etc.

Staring at the screen while Ignis drives on auto pilot is one of the dullest experiences I've had in gaming in my life. Why this is such a big part of the game is mind blowing to me.

And yes, fast travel is there, but still. That car should be much faster than it is.

And don't get me started on the gas situation.

I use it as time to check my phone/twitter while listening to past FF soundtracks.

I do, however wish there were less of them and that they were longer so I could listen to more of the soundtrack at once.
