Is it just me or is Online getting boring faster then expected? I think this had so much potential to be great online but has failed.

Every so many pages someone comes along and posts that lol.

    AUchase, Shak3, now you.

I'll say to you guys, the game is what you make of it. There are so many things to do in this game, you guys need to get creative with your crew sessions and perhaps come up with new things to get into.

We (crew) have 2 guys well over 100, I'm in the high 90's and a couple others in the 70 range. We try to mix it up and just have fun.

Your last line said online has failed, well i argue that perhaps you're doing it wrong.

Slow up the pace, chat it up, have fun.

Yeah I can see both sides, for me I have a blast online when I get in a session with a bunch of os'ers but lately because of sports/new games/life I havent seen many of the regulars online which sort of kills the fun for me. Yeah I've had moments where something crazy/awesome happens in free mode, but I feel like those are heavily outweighed by the annoying randomns who do stupid ****. I think when heists finally drop things should pick up, plus the create-a-mission or whatever it's called should keep things interesting.

Heck I picked up a pair of pulse headsets so I wouldn't be the creepy quiet guy during our crew sessions anymore.

Im doing that we have the shootouts with randoms, do missions with friends, and races but once you get money, apartment, and cars what else is there. People im playing with is in the 100's I have playef there missions and seen what they have and it's not that great. I was looking forward to playing with the OS crew on 360 but look like that crew has split in half and nobody links up except you coffey, cam, and couple others. I came into this thinking this this would be epic for online but it's just ok single player was a lot better. I have seen a lot of people say they getting bored with online and is ready for the DLC for single player.

If you enjoying it that's great for you I can only express how I feel.

I think GTA online is no different than any other game's online offering. Figure it takes 30 plus hours to reach level 50 online. That's more than enough of time to become bored with something. But you also get the crowd who still love it and keep the community active.

Has GTA online failed to live up to expectations? I think it's fair to say so. Only because all that was hyped wasn't accessible from the jump. Some will miss out on heists and custom missions, races, the like because they've moved on to Next Gen or Battlefield or COD.

I'm still having enough fun with online. Enough to jump on for an hour or so here and there. Haven't even finished single player. So for where the game came up short, I can't allow myself to complain. Game has given me more than my moneys worth. Over an embarrassing 60 hours worth.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V Online

I am finding it a little boring only because it's hard to string together actual missions with crew members. Racing is great fun but people leaving sessions and stuff makes it hard to sustain the big games with loads of people that make the mode great.

Just last night I tried to join a mission with 3 other OSers but I assume they got kicked because when it started I was alone. I died so I didn't get a bad player rep thing for quitting, but once back in main online I couldn't hook up with anyone again.

When heists come I think more people from the crew will play and it'll get a new lease of life.

I do hope that rockstar make it possible to make a playlist of actual missions so you can have a run of available missions to do with the same people from before.

I'm not giving up on it though as the potential for fun is so great but some small things can be frustrating.

I agree with you on this. I didn't like how missions were setup for online at all. You can only complete one at a time; the options that come up after completing a mission are races and deathmatches only, so if you want to do another mission, you have to go back to freemode and access one through the phone. Then you don't know who will be joining you, if anyone.

Plus the repeat of missions is even worse now since they cut the money you earn from repeats. If you complete X mission with crew members, it should register with the mission-givers (Lester, Martin) that you've already completed that mission so they don't send it to you. I don't want to do missions twice anymore and most other crew members probably don't either.

Honestly online just didn't live up to the hype. My expectations were probably too high to begin with, but it hasn't been that smooth at all. I'm hoping they do heists right whenever it happens, but my expectations are greatly tempered now.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V Online

As Boltman mentioned, this is really a game of what you make it. I can have fun either with or without folks to party up with.

Put it this way...I've put in 81+ hours, and am only a level 47...why? because I spend so much time messing around doing gang attacks, chasing crates and always looking for different vehicles and so on.

I will also take heli's and just practice my flying skills and try to level that up as well....I will also do missions either with or without crew members. My greatest challenge (of which I enjoy) is trying to do survival missions solo, which at times can be frustrating...lol

The only thing that bothers me though,is being at a level of 47,when I decide to do a mission, why am I getting missions that are for much lower levels?
Like I'll call up Gerald for a job,and I get a same mission that I did when I was a much lower level....I don't get that.

All in all,I love the online component, and I'm sure it will only get better...R* stated that they are going to continue to add content,so I'm not worried at all...something to keep in mind...the online portion as only been available 1 month (as of tomorrow)
People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.

I never gave up altogether on it, it's just that I can only do the same things repeatedly so many times before I burn out. The only fun things right now are messing with randoms because the missions are pretty cut and paste from each other, just change the drug type to meth instead of coke, etc. Racing is fun too but I've completed so many that I want something else to work on besides just my cars pretty much. I think they just hyped it too much and didn't provide the main things up front. I'm not by any means disappointed, it was incredibly fun. But now I find myself searching for reasons to play it because what's available only lasts so long. And with how Rockstar has been delaying things I just figure I'll wait til things are actually available. I understand trying to mix things up but there's only so many things you can do. I'm glad some of you are still grinding away and having a blast, it's just not where I stand at the moment.

Rockstar says multiplayer mode is still undergoing technical improvements but reveals range of gameplay additions. By Keith Stuart

Due out in early November, the 'Beach Bum' DLC pack will be the first content update, offering new beach-themed vehicles and outfits, as well as tattoos and hairstyles. The pack also features a selection of new online jobs to try out, featuring Gang Attack, Deathmatch, Parachute, Race and Last Team Standing mission types – all based around the map's coastal resorts.

Previously announced alongside the Beach Bum pack, autumn will also see the first part of the Content Creator app, which will allow players to customise facets of the Online mode. Users will be able to create, share and rate new Deathmatch and Race challenges, and Rockstar will monitor the creative scene, featuring the best examples on its Newswire site with a 'Rockstar Verified' stamp of approval.
Meanwhile, players are being kept waiting for the promised 'Stimulus Package' which will drop $500,000 of in-game cash into the bank accounts of players who have downloaded the GTA Online mode during October. Announced as a thank you to veteran players who have endured glitches, exploits and server issues throughout the first few weeks' of GTA Online's existence, the gift is being delayed until technical issues have been resolved. A new title update is expected to hit this week.
