Re: UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End
So I played the MP side of the game quite a bit today. I would guess about 6-7 hours.
Very fun, very fast, very fluid. As many of you know the MP side runs at 60 FPS and you can tell, it feels great and looks very nice.
Bolt and I both felt like the MP felt a little different than the beta. Not sure how to pinpoint it. Seemed like some abilities/powerups were just dominating that weren't before and guns were definitely balanced/tweaked quite a bit.
Technically there are four modes but really its just Team Deathmatch, Control, and Plunder.
There are also "Trials" you can do that earn you the purple credits (that you use to buy "loot boxes" of vanity items, ability mods, or one use powerups) for each difficulty you complete them on, they are basically hands on tutorials for each ability you can can use in MP. Definitely very helpful for first timers.
Servers seemed fine once we got in the game, but it matched us up 5 v 4 very often for some reason, and in a game as small as 5 v 5, each player is so important that whichever team only has 4 is at a huge disadvantage. It's not like a TF2 server where one team can have 30 and the other 29 and not really tell a difference. Each guy has to pull their weight. It was abundantly clear which teams were grouped up and working together, and which teams weren't. Teams that worked together and flowed around the map, flanking when appropriate, dominated. Most games we played were blowouts. We either steamrolled the other team or got steamrolled. There were a few close matches thrown in there.
The maps are all great IMO and present opportunities for various tactics/strategies/shootout points
Team deathmatch is where we spent most of our time. What I like about this mode is the revive mechanic. 40 kills wins the match for either team and when it is crunch time reviving a teammate to deny the other team a kill can be just as important as notching a kill yourself. You find yourself in these situations where you have to decide if it is safe to run over and revive or if doing so will just give the enemy another kill on top of the one they already have. We have a term in our group for the method of melee killing a downed opponent, I won't use it here but it definitely is satisfying landing a killing blow.
Control is your basic capture three different points to score points for your team, with an added twist of each team has a captain that changes throughout the map (captain status is up all times but won't always be the same guy) and killing him earns your team points as well. There was a situation where I was a level 3 captain (the points a captain gives for getting killed goes up each level) and I was killed toward the end of the match and that one kill erased a decent lead we had and swung the momentum in their favor and they won a close game.
Plunder seems kind of like a "capture the flag" deal where an idol spawns in the middle of the map and the two teams fight to bring it back to their "base" and capture it. Some very fun and intense matches from the little we played of it, definitely some tug of war action. You can pick up the idol and throw it. It also gives you a one hit melee kill when you swing it at an enemy.
For TDM it seemed like there were two strategies that worked for most teams. Either advancing aggressively together and just rolling through opponents or staying back and hiding in cover trying to ambush people as they run by.
I think the "legs" of the MP will be the progression, unlocking the mods for each gun and each ability. The game does a great job of telling you what you are working toward after each match, how close you are to the next upgrade, etc. Does a good job "dangling the carrot" and making you feel like you are making progress
The game gives you a total score at end of the game, and takes into account support stats as well, gives you credit for everything which is nice
Oh, and there are 3 daily challenges you can do to get credits. Definitely worth logging in to knock them out quick if just to stockpile funds for unlocking things when you are ready toLast edited by The JareBear; 05-11-2016, 04:55 AM."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Just started Chapter 7 last night, then exited due to having to sleep for work. Once I complete the single player, I will be ready to jump right into multi.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Again, the ability to remove the characters in photo mode was f'ing genius. Some scenic shots I've taken, posted to my Twitter account.

Re: UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End
I love this game. Just like all the other Uncharted games it feels like i'm playing some AAA summer blockbuster movie. Except with maybe better writing. But thats what draws me into it.HELLO BROOKYLN.

Re: UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End
I thought about doing this until I saw that the collection is on backorder until mid June!Seriously, for anyone who hasn't played the first three games, I highly recommend and suggest going to Best Buy and buying the Uncharted Collection by Saturday (5/14) for $20 / $16 GCU. If it wasn't for the fact that I played all three games on PlayStation 3, I would have easily picked up the collection and played through them again.
Another reason to play through them before 4 is it will most likely be very hard to go back to the previous games if you wanted to. I started Assassin's Creed with IV, Far Cry with 3 and while I played Splinter Cell and Pandora Tomorrow, once I played Conviction, I couldn't go back and play Chaos Theory and Double Agent or the previous AC / FC games.
Sorry for the off topic games but seriously, I don't know why anyone wouldn't want to play the trilogy if you're going to play Uncharted 4 anyway.
Good thing that Uncharted story in 10 minutes video was posted a few pages back... So I'm good now.Milwaukee Brewers | Green Bay Packers | North Carolina Tar Heels | Wisconsin BadgersComment

Re: UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End
I only played Uncharted 3 and never finished it so I am going to pick up the Uncharted Collection. You can't go wrong for $20. I will probably finish 4 first though and then play it so we will see how that goes.On a related side note -
