Yeah. No clue here either. Game was super smooth and responsive for me from start to finish. One of the best games I've ever played.

Easily the smoothest and most responsive game of the four, ESPECIALLY the gunplay... I played through all three as well ok Crushing prior to release. Whatever the case may be it sounds like it's either your system or your tv because none of those issues line up with what I (or others it seems) experienced.

        Re: UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End

        Okay, a couple of things:

        1) DD, were you referring to playing the original UC games on PS3, or PS4? If PS4, there's no way you can say that 30 FPS is ever smoother than 60 FPS. Unless you're referring to something different regarding smoothness...

        2) I don't want to be one of the "Is it plugged in?" kind of guys, here. My plasma set is not only rather lag-free, but I have been gaming on it with every UC game before it, alongside Remote Play. I'm just not ready to hear a lot of the comments about my equipment being inadequate. I know that's an ignorant approach especially with me being the only person to have made a comment about it thus far, but I can only compare to what I have played before it.

        3) I do have to apologize to Boltman. I typed my initial response to him at work, far away from the video game... and the previous time playing, I had remembered there was a setting to "lock onto enemies" when aiming. That's what I thought he was referring to with aim assist, not the slider option. That said, I had that lowered to zero because I didn't want it to help me lock onto enemies.

        4) You'll have to recall that I was only able to shoot three enemies within the first four chapters of the game. You don't get to shoot anybody again until Chapter 5 (with a small exception, but you're still not shooting people). My experiences were few and far between. Since then I have downloaded the 1.10 patch and raised the aim assist to 10. Together, even on Remote Play, things are much better. When getting into more gun fights and even playing on PS4, I'll be able to know for sure. But remember that I am playing SP right now, not MP. Until I officially play MP that has 60 FPS, I can't have a super fair comparison at the moment.

Thanks for all of the help. Sorry to appear stubborn. Those who have followed my posts for the past couple of months in this thread should know how stoked I was to play this game. I just want to be able to actually kill baddies, though. Had a bit of trouble to start with, and it raised a major red flag. No, not because my PS4 needs to rebuild its database. I really appreciate any impressions and comments my way though.

          ^ PS4.

Didn't think you were hating on the game. It just seems like something that might be on your end. I could of course be wrong, it's just that every opinion I've heard/read until yours has been nothing but glowing praise for how smooth the gameplay is and how improved the gunplay is; even over the PS4 trilogy remaster.

I think he is just sensitive to the framerate difference. I notice what he means in that situation, so I think I misunderstood. I thought he was having bad performence issues. Still is the smoothest, and most gorgeous looking 30FPS out there.

I also did play it before playing the Remaster. So I will probably notice more if I pop it in now.

              Re: UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End

I hope the things I stated at least made a bit of sense.

Remember though, I don't think the framerate is actually affecting gameplay. I just think it is exactly what it is: not 60 FPS. In some ways it's actually for the better because it can give a more cinematic look (if they really wanted to do that they would go 24 FPS), but in the end it wasn't my main concern with the game.

My main concern was not being able to aim and kill baddies. I have slightly rescinded that comment though since cranking up aim assist (now that I know that has nothing to do with locking onto enemies so to speak) and downloading the update. I guess I should have mentioned that I played the game without any updates whatsoever to begin with, and the link to the thread I brought you all to on the PlayStation forums does have a developer saying that a patch was specifically meant to help resolve the acceleration issue slightly.

So yes, the issue actually was there in some respects, at least so I know I wasn't that cuckoo. I'm just surprised nobody else who came off the Uncharted: Nathan Drake Collection went to this one and said, "Well this is different." I'd like to acknowledge that the game is significantly more beautiful, and there are things within the gunplay that make it more visually effective (such as when you hit and kill an enemy, for one). Doesn't mean it didn't have some aiming issues along the way, but now that it's less of an issue, you shouldn't really hear me speak about it much anymore.

I am floored by this game outside of all of this, and I am only five chapters in.

I really like the new update.

Ranked Team Deathmatch is much better now. If you are on a bad team, and perform well, you don't lose as many ranking points. I just got to Silver II and it has been a grind, I reached Gold II last season, but never got to Gold I. I enjoyed the ups and downs though.

NOTE: I have been experimenting with a new/old class. The FAL Classic. Just the FAL,Sidearm,Grenade,No Mysticals,No Sidekicks,No Heavy Weapons(Although I might add the RPG now that I think about it. It was in Uncharted 2 MP as well.) Anyway, it has been so much fun playing with this simplistic classic loadout. I just focus on slaying with the FAL and banking grenades off the wall onto unsuspecting heads. Fun times.

The gameplay still has that clunky feel to it and the gunplay is still lacking. Add in the bad cover to cover scheme and horrible decision to put the "roll/evade" action on the same button that allows you to exit cover and seriously, as much as I loved Uncharted 4 (and the series in general), there's plenty of other games that do these aspects that I just mentioned better and in some cases, far better.

Of course, in fairness, coming off The Division (which has excellent gameplay, gunplay and cover system) and then going to Quantum Break and then Uncharted 4, both of these games just didn't feel right compared to The Division but at the same time, I always thought the gameplay and gunplay in the Uncharted franchise was the weakest aspect of them all but everything else is so well done, that it becomes easy to overlook that.

Funny thing is that while halfway through 2016, Uncharted 4 is my game of the year, it's also my disappointment of the year at the same time, if that makes any sense. LOL.

Clunky and stiff are the last two words I would ever think to describe the game. Even switching from single player to online the change isn't that drastic.

Luckily with it being a holiday weekend I had family stuff to do so I wasn't just sitting around the house. Still I ended up getting to chapter 12 and spent 11 hours playing. This is coming from someone who who has a short attention span with non sports games and usually gets bored with a game around this time frame. This game I'm having to try not to play it as I don't want it to end.

I'm not good at posting review and gameplay type stuff here are a few major thoughts I had. About the biggest knock I've had with past games is the puzzles. I would usually just look them up online and get them over with after a few minutes. This game they seem to be easier to do and also gives me the option to skip them if I want to. I find myself wanting more of the shooting in this game which is different then most games. So when the action scenes come I find them meaning more instead of just randomly shooting people. The graphics for this game is just mind blowing.

I think the controls have always been clunky and stiff. They're not as fluid and responsive as other third person shooters out there. Not horrible or anything like that but when you play third person shooters that do these aspects better, you notice the differences right away.
