These are my impressions. Keep in mind they are coming from a big time FPS player. I play a lot of halflife, halo, quake, unreal, etc. online.

If you are big into FPS quick paced gameplay... this game isn't very fun online. Especially not as a spy. It sucks being a spy because you are pretty much defenseless. I've found the mercenaries are definitely more my style of play, but something about the slow paced 2v2 stuff just hasn't grabbed me yet.

I do like the single player so far though. I have died a lot, but I get a little further after each death as I figure out better tactics, such as shooting out lights and stuff.

being a good spy online just takes practice...I'm nowhere near great yet, but you can learn to hide, get the objectives, and occasionally kill/knock out a merc...I see where you're coming from though, for those looking for non stop halo-ish fps gameplay being a spy isn't too fun. Personally, I like the strategy in it all. Plus as a spy it's fun to be in a great hiding spot, and keep shocking the mercs, when they can't see you. Make 'em wonder where the hell you are

Yeah I played with mgoblue and some other guys for about 5 or 6 games this afternoon and it was fun. It was my first time online and I enjoyed being a spy and merc equally. I love the balance in the game. It is about as perfect as can be as far as what weapons and tactics spys and mercs have. Now I just have to get a little better at it...

that sonds like a lot more fun than a fps type of a game to me.

I hated playing Unreal or whatever online. Total chaos. Mostly luck on who kills who.

absolutely, it makes you think about every move you make......if you just go charging into a room or area (especially as a spy) youre probably a dead man......this game is already getting harder simply by the fact that people are learning the maps....its gonna get downright evil
