    Re: Splinter Cell Pandora Impressions

    Couple of Tips :

    SPY

1)Do NOT kill a Merc unless absolutely necassary. All this does is refresh their mine inventory, so now you have to deal with another 5 mines...Knock them out, and move on.

2)Use the alarm trippers where you can, Now that people have had this game over the weekend, any intrusion alarm will get the Mercs running to that area, this can be useful for diverting attention away from a teammate

3)Your headset camera (click the right stick for XBOX I believe) can be used to lock onto targets, if you want to disable one ND in particular, you can press A while looking at that ND, and it will provide info on it, while making all other ND's dissappear from the HUD, this make finding it less confusing when running away from a MERC.

4)Don't shoot a MERC if they do not see you (I realise its hard to resist shocking the hell out of them, then watching them run around)...this will do 2 things. It alerts them to the fact that a spy is present, and it CAN give away your position.

5)If spotted by a MERC, drop flash / chaff and run...If its a small hallway, use Smoke instead. Smoke is a VERY useful tool, as it not only hides you, it can knock the Mercs out. Don't engage a Merc in hand to hand unless you cant get away. Once you are not engaged...Flash and Run.

    6) Find a dark spot...and STOP, either with Flash or Smoke Ready...you would be suprised how many times a Merc will run by a dark hallway.

    MERC

    1) The marks on the reticle are very important. An arrow outside the circle lets you know in what general direction either motion or sound is coming from. The arrow inside the circle lets you know if they are on the floor above or below you...or if they are on the same level

    2) The Laser can be used much like a motion sensor...if you point it at a spy that is running, it will draw a square around that spy, and track them while they are moving

    3) IMPORTANT : Double tap in a direction to pull a quick 180 degree turn...Hit Right Right on the D pad or controller stick quickly and you will turn around MUCH quicker than if you just hold the stick in that direction.

    4) Watch for dust falling from ceiling tiles, it means a spy is moving overhead a bit too quickly.

    5) If you are getting shocked...squat down, they cannot break your neck this way, but they can jump on you.

OUCH! I played my first time online tonight and got worked. I'm really good at 1st person online games but not this one. I eventually got too frustrated and went back to the single player game.

                  3) IMPORTANT : Double tap in a direction to pull a quick 180 degree turn...Hit Right Right on the D pad or controller stick quickly and you will turn around MUCH quicker than if you just hold the stick in that direction.

CORRECTION, only hitting R R or L L, on the LEFT Control Stick will cause the MERC to do a 180, R on the D pad is obviously Electro Magnetic display.

Thanks man...I've been getting killed out there...

Well I tried playing some online tonight and could hardly find a game. And when I did it was young kids or some guy complaining I was level one and he wasn't playing with no guy on level one. Excuse Me! I played with random people over the weekend and had a blast. I guess I lucked out and got with a good group.
