Oh man. I woke up yesterday sick as hell. Flu I guess. Couldn't keep anything down. Slept for the better part of a day an a half. Just now feeling normal again. Had some really crazy No Man's Sky fever dreams lol.

I'm weak as hell but ready for midnight!

I can't be more than 5 minutes in and I'm destroying this rock to get its iron. This robot flying orb thing comes by and startles be and I accidentally shoot it which turned out to be a bad idea as like 4 of his buddies show up and kill me lol. I guess I get the fastest death so far for this game.

I have kind of come up with my back story for this game.

Yeah, I am one of those guys. Have played RPGs , both pen and paper and video games, all my life. It's what I do, sorry

So my Father and I being traders have traveled The Black for a bit together now that I am old enough. We have been exploring a new section of space lately and looking for new goods and artifacts for trade. Just last night we saw some strange lights in the sky and ships we had never seen before floating thru the sky.

We turned in for the night, my father staying on watch for the first part of the night. When I awoke later my Father was gone and nowhere to be found. Our ship was gone, everything was gone except for one ship that was all busted and worn out.

So now I have the choice of dying on this planet or fixing this ship and heading into the black. Hopefully my family is out there somewhere, but either way I have to go.

Some more gameplay. I dont know anything about this game and I didnt watch any streams so I dont know how different each planet is that you start from.

There are living things here. I ran into some sort of animal but it ran away and was pretty fast.

I've learned a few words so I wonder if thats for this planet or another.

I also got lost in this cave and I found some gold and heridium. Which was pretty cool because with iron and other resources when you destroy it, the rock goes away but the gold and heridium were part of a wall so you could carve a passage way through this wall. It was like building a tunnel. It didnt go anywhere but i thought it was a neat design they put in.

Based on Sean's stream today, it sounds like you can talk to alien races at space stations. If you have no idea what they're saying, you could accidentally insult them or agree to something you don't actually want to do (I saw one story that a guy accidentally agreed to marry an alien's sister or something like that). As you learn the words, you'll have a better idea what they're talking about and therefore, a better idea of how you want to interact with them.

Preodered and downloaded - I literally have no idea if this is going to be a genre defining experience, or a big turd that I wasted $60 on. The suspense to find out though is almost worth the cost of the game.

For real, I have seen that posted on Reddit a few times.

It's a game where you have an almost limitless universe that you can explore freely, at your own pace. In order to do so you have to mine resources and craft items and upgrades to get to where you want to get. A lot of things can happen between the beginning of end of your journey, it is really up to you.

I made it into space and wow. This is game is huge.

I went to a space station but it didn't seem I could do much. I didn't have this pass thing so I couldn't open the door inside the space station. I went to a nearby planet next. I ran into some very large creatures pictured below. They were friendly. There are some crab looking things that attack though. I guess they don't like people swimming around lol.
