Giant, jumping mushrooms that yell just takes me out of the game and so does half of the ridiculousness I saw on the planets.

Sounds silly to type out since there is so much more to the game now, but I just cannot ever get past it whenever I tried to fire this up again. I loved things like learning languages and whatnot, but maybe I was expecting too much out of the organic side of the game.

I poured about 45-50 hours into this when it came out......got bored as hell and never went back even after all the updates. I will one day and just start totally fresh.

But I remember this video......and it still makes me piss my pants.

That's always been one of my favorite videos in recent years. I still remember watching it for the first time. It's glorious.

          Holy wow.

This game now looks absolutely phenomenal! I have always enjoyed it, and of course was frustrated by it at times, but I still pick it up and play a few hours a month. Now it might be the game I mainly play with all of these updates! Spiderman, Jurassic World, and No Mans Sky has me excited for my end of 2018 gaming.

I haven't played it since a month or so after release and maybe once or twice since then. The update looks like it may be the game we wanted at release.

I think the NEXT is a new game, not an update. If I interpreted that correctly.

And I did not.. says in the video description that it's an update. That's awesome

                It's a free update:

Hello Games' ever-evolving universe-spanning adventure gets full multiplayer support, a visual overhaul, major base-building upgrades, and more.

The backlash wouldn't even be there, and that game would have failed since everyone would have been fed up with how No Man Sky started.

This needed to be an update, and a free one. Good on them for keeping this going. I can't wait!

Just re-read this thread. What a joy that was, and I forgot the whole early copy EBAY/Reddit fiasco, haha.

I haven't really played it much since the initial launch, do the bases you build have any kind of meaning? Do they do anything? What I'd really like is a mix between this game and factorio. Satisfactory is another entry in that genre I'm looking forward to.

I just really like building things that are meaningful and do stuff. Like an extension of character progression.
