I just really like building things that are meaningful and do stuff. Like an extension of character progression.

They're no big factory or anything but they do have a few purposes.

The only kind of active thing is farming mats that can be sold or built into other things to sell. There's also options for storage and teleportation to previous found places. As far as character progression, you're tasked with populating the base with employees that send you on missions that usually reward blueprints.

The game has definitely gotten to the point I think a lot of people wanted it to be on release day.

I just hope people give it that second chance because it is a very fun game, to me at least. I have been putting in hours and hours into it. I have two saves, my first is my original in which I have 63 hours put in, and my newer one that has 28 hours put in.

I will likely start a 3rd one with the NEXT patch.

Edit: just double checked numbers. Was a good bit off on my first save haha.

        Re: No Man's Sky

So, I have been toying with the idea of doing a write-up for No Man's Sky. Like for the past few years now, haha. Not sure if I should just update whenever in here, or go make a thread in the Other Sport Dynasty area.

        Bard Presents:
No Man’s Sky: Lost Among the Stars

The scene opens up with young traveler, Jacob Harris, waking up near a seemingly destroyed, snowy, area. Jacob looks around in a shock as he does not know where his location is. He looks at his name badge on his Astrowear 2790. “Where am I?” Jacob notices that his Astrowear is detecting potential freezing, and he looks up to see a sea of white all around him. He looks around and sees these two mysterious creatures! Jacob, in a panic, runs to the ship behind him. “I hope this one is mine!” Jacob does the hand scan, and the ship opens for him. The ship welcomes Mr. Harris back as it is named Yakomaku S79. However, a lot of the ship has been damaged, and it needs to be put back together for Mr. Harris to get off this frozen wasteland. It is negative ninety-one degrees out there!

Jacob Harris: “Okay, night is almost upon me. Let’s get some sleep before we begin our day tomorrow."

Journal Entry 1: “I have awoken near a crashed starship. It recognizes me, and its name is Yakomaku S79. However, I don’t recognize me. The name badge on my suit says that my name is Jacob Harris. What happened, and where am I? The crash must have affected my memory somehow, or what did happen to me.”

            Bard Presents:
No Man’s Sky: Lost Among the Stars

Jacob awakes from his slumber. Now is the true first day out here on this seemingly unexplored planet. The ship is reading negative one hundred degrees this morning. That is truly asinine. Jacob gets out of his ship and looks around. This place may be cold, but it sure is beautiful. Jacob did notice a camera in the ship and is deciding to track his quest. Jacob sees that there is a creepy cave to his south and decides that he should probably start there to find the materials that he needs to rebuild his ship. He stops for a moment to look at the destruction around his ship and is very excited to find some scrap metal. “This could come in handy for rebuilding the ship if I accidentally break off something. Now it is time to get into that cave and see what I can find.” Jacob ventures into the cave and finds some interesting looking plants and blasters them up to put into his bag. He continues to do so until a little alien like creature runs up on him, and attacks! Jacob in a scurry runs away from the creature but decides to use his blaster on it to kill it! Jacob walks up on the creature. “This is one ugly creature. It is like a squid, but a mushroom all at the same time. It is a Squidshroom!” Jacob, I do not believe was known for his creativity… Jacob continues on his quest by collecting resources, and he gets attacked again by a gain of six Squidshrooms! Jacob makes a dash out of the area and hears something overhead. Two ships fly by! Jacob tries to wave them down, but to no avail. “So, there is other life around here. It is good to know I am not completely alone.” As the night begin to fall, Jacob realizes that he did well on his hunt of resources on his first day out on this planet. The Launch Thruster and his mining beam are back up and functional. Day two will be consisting of finding Heridium and Zinc to fix the Pulse Engine and also more Carbon to fix his scanner.

Journal Entry 2: “There is a lot of life on this planet. As I am writing this a few new creatures have walked in front of me. I do not know what happened, but I sure hope those ships that flew overhead are good guys, and will eventually help me get out of this frozen wasteland.”

Journal Entry 3: "There wasn't much that happened today, but I am not losing hope. I went farther today...much farther than the previous two. I explored, and now I am getting closer to getting out of here. I saw more ships, many more species which I scanned with my now working scanner. All I need left is more Zinc. I need that Zinc more than anything right now. I had 2% left on my life support before I barely made it back to the ship...I do not want to think what would have happened to me. I got gun-shy and called it a day at only 3/4 of the day. I will try again tomorrow."

I have not touched this game since 2 months after launch. Played the crap out of it and got bored doing the same thing...over and over and over in a pretty boring universe.

This update looks great. Will fire it up this weekend and give it a spin again.

Some good details that came out today. I am very excited!

If anyone on OS wants to meet up I am going to be down. Building a little civilization is going to he fun, and you can spawn with whoever you want to play with. Parties of 4, so just get multiple parties going and make a fun planet system.

I assume we can continue where we left off with this new update? I haven't played in a long time but I think I still have my save.

Yes you sure can! Well, they did wipe the universe once, so depends when you played last.

I would hold your horses. Wait for the live update on Tuesday and a patch. However, those clouds are still an improvement, but agreed not nearly as majestic as the trailer.

Yeah, I'm going to wait anyway because the leaked video is probably not even from a Pro based on the framerate. Any sort of enhanced visuals may be better optimized for the Pro including cloud cover.

Thanks for letting me know when it comes out by the way.
