I’m pretty annoyed with this game right now. I have no Artemis quest line and have no idea how to trigger it to start.

I found one of those trading posts with multi tool on the wall you can buy. It's almost 7m units and I desperately want it! The only way I could think of to find that area again was to build my base next to it. Once I get enough units saved and get it, I'm taking the base down.

I wish you could map the parts of the planets you've discovered so you can easily find them again. Maybe you can and I'm just missing something?

          Man. This game.

So, I haven't had any crashes (knock on wood) or anything that people have talked about. My current base planet has a bunch of whispering eggs, and is also a barren planet with a ton of resources! The temperature sits around 99F with occasional storms, but overall it is kind of perfect to settle down for a while on it.

I think you're describing waypoints? Take a look at this tutorial. It's only 4.5 mins long but it it is useful in locking in on something you tag as a waypoint while on the planet's surface or in space. Hope this helps

That is exactly what I was looking to do! Thanks for the post!

Seems that was the earlier build, now you can leave a custom marker on there but once you go to mark something else it goes away.

I don't know. I only deleted one base - the one I had to create for the tutorial. And I wasn't paying attention to whether I got anything back.

Another freighter-related bug - People aren't able to warp their freighter to different systems right now from the bridge. The only way to do it is to fly a ship into a system, and then summon the freighter with the quick menu (D-pad down I think while in space). This one has hit me along with the previously mentioned un-repairable frigates.

I just encountered a freighter that came out of warp with its bridge inside an
large silver asteroid. I was trying to clear away the asteroid so I could access the bridge, but then the freighter turned hostile.

Another thing that is bugging me is why they would make one of the components needed to build exocraft geobays (Parrafinium) something that isn't easy to come buy.

I've never played this game but it looks interesting, and I have a few questions: How prevalent are sentinels? Are they present on 10% of planets you visit, half, most? Are their existence explained by lore/backstory? Given the 18 quintillion planets that exist, it seems to me like it would be immersion breaking to encounter sentinels all the time.

One of things I find appealing about this game is the discovery of planets and knowing that I would be the first person to lay eyes on a planet. Ever present sentinels clashes with this for me. It is a game mechanic that's necessary for balancing?

Sentinels aren't a huge issue most of the time. They do appear on the majority of planets, but most of the time they're pretty spread apart and you can mine or do whatever without being bothered by them at all. Even if you do get caught by one and it starts moving toward you, just stop whatever you were doing and they'll go away soon enough. And if you've done enough to make them actually start shooting at you, just run - they do basically no damage and will lose sight of you after one dash. If you don't escalate it by shooting one, it'll probably never go past a single "wanted level".

The hyper-aggressive ones that I've been talking about in my posts are pretty uncommon, plus I've only seen them in Survival mode (which is more challenging/grindy in a lot of ways). You can check what a planet's Sentinel situation looks like in the analysis visor - as long as whatever it says about them isn't in red, they're probably not going to be an issue on that planet.

When you first land on a new planet, as soon as you step out of your ship it will give you info on the planet. One of those tidbits is how passive or aggressive the sentinels are. Also tells you weather conditions on the planet and whether there is life on the planet.

In case anyone runs into this I just kinda went on my own too early and did my own thing. I warped back to the start galaxy and the mission immediately triggered. Resulting in my whole day flying by. Good thing the wife had plans.

Also I just found out today to can refine Tritium into Platnium. That’s handy.

                              Re: No Man's Sky

Decided to jump back into this after the update. I had originally played it briefly after it first came out, but only got about 5 hours into it, making it as far as the space station. So, I decided to start a new game.

So far I'm about 3 hours into it, on my second planet (a ring planet which was amazing approaching it in my ship) and ready to leave to investigate the signal at the space station. So far have two bases on the planet I'm on currently. Built my tutorial base, then had to go find a buried technology module, which I had to fly to a different area to find.

While flying, I had a building of some sort come up on my scanner, so I tried to land to check it out, but must not have landed fast enough as I couldn't locate it when I got out on foot. However, I did locate a bunch of metal 'fingers'. There were probably 10-15 of them, a couple were made of uranium, which I was happy to find as my launch thrusters were nearly empty. The rest were all gold, so I now have 1,056 items of gold sitting in my ship inventory, good for 213,312 units when I eventually sell them. Currently I have a paltry 33,028 units, 157 nanite clusters and 0 Quicksilver, whatever the hell the nanite clusters and quicksilver are supposed to be used for.

One thing I do miss from my previous game, right now I still have my class C starter multi-tool with only 5 slots. In my old game from August 2017, I had a C class multi-tool with 12 slots and a bunch of upgrades. I also had 431,831 units on that previous game.

But, it's not such a massive difference between units and nanite clusters between the two, so I'll keep working on my new game. Even though my next objective is to investigate the space station, and even though the planet I'm on is a corrosive damp planet with moderate toxicity, I'm gonna keep exploring for a bit as I have 5 or 6 buried technology modules showing up on scans, plus an abandoned building to check out.

And as I just discovered while typing this, metal 'fingers' grow back! I completely wiped out all the metal fingers that I discovered and built a base next to. Now in the last couple minutes, three new gold containing metal fingers have appeared in the same area the previous ones were. Time to start mining more gold! I'm gonna load up all the gold my ship and exosuit can carry before heading to the space station.
