So I haven't played yet, but I'm curious... there are different modes, instead of just being "always connected" and that sort of thing? I was really hoping the lure of this game was going to be that as you play an SP mode (of sorts), you could run into others and just start doing your thing.

But is MP a completely different mode, then? Do you also not carry anything over from SP to MP, and vice-versa?

From what little I played, when you begin you can select to join somebody else's session or create your own. In your own you can toggle connected or not. Connected will open your session to let people join, randoms or invite friends.

It's kind of annoying that the resources needed to recharge the hazard protection modules are nowhere to be found.

I had a similar problem, that and no 21:9 support is what got me to put it down pretty quickly for now as there were other things I wanted to get back to.

These buildings look cool. Reminds me of what I could do with Ark. I wasn’t impressed by the building in this game my first few hours of play. Only one roof shape you can make? I got a box going on with a bunch of triangles for roofs haha.

Game seems decent though. I got stuck in my quest line when I had to blast underground for parts. It said I was right at the part but nothing was there. So I just decided to find a space station to customize my guy a bit.

I’m hoping it grabs me more as I go. If I can find a location like these pictures and unlock more building options it should. Also would like a new ship but the prices I saw at the space station seemed absurd. Hopefully money gets easier to come by.

Is the second planet you visit now always going to be Earth-like (to accomodate easier base-building)? I played for a few hours on Normal, then switched to Survival once I had a handle on the new mechanics. Both times the second planet didn't put a drain on my Environmental Protection Suit (well, except when a super-heated rainstorm came along - beggars can't be choosers )

I thought it was odd because I'd never seen a human-life supporting planet before this update. I didn't spend a huge amount of time with the game before then, but enough that I visited a whole lot of planets, so I found it surprising.

Survival's no joke - in addition to sparser resources, there also seem to be more sentinels and more active pirate ships out in space. At this point I'm not sure how to get away from a fight that I don't want - pirate ships will even follow me into a planet's atmosphere and dogfight me above the surface!

I would like to play permadeath sometime, but if living is this hard on survival that's not going to be happening for a while...lol

My first planet was super hot and the second one I landed on rains acid every day. I did build a small house just so that I can let my suit protection recharge.

He should just pop up? Is your update completely done? The new patch was around 9GB.

Which of the two settings did you two choose?

That is truly weird.

Are both of you playing the same game mode (permadeath, normal, creative, etc...)? Are both of you playing the same game type? Also, you may just have to try and create a new save and see if that works. I haven't ran into this problem, but hope any of this helps.
