Do you have to stay connected online (ala The Division) in order to play the game or can you play off-line? Thanks.

      ...............................................
You can play the game offline, but the online portion comes into effect when making your discoveries.

“PS Plus won’t be a requirement to play online, however you will need to connected to the internet for your discoveries to register with the universal atlas,” a Sony representative told Game Informer Australia editor David Milner, who then shared the news on Twitter to clear up the confusion on the PS Plus issue.

Sure but aren't all games repetitive at some point? Head here. Grab that. Fetch this. Fight back.

The question no one can answer is, will you enjoy this game's form of repetition?

You'll see that notification come up every several minutes but, yes, you'll be good to go.

You can play offline. You just won't see any changes (planet names, species) or update your own to the server.

So is there formal multiplayer in this game? Can I play it directly with friends or not?

You cannot. You will have to try to find friends in the game, but I don't know how possible that will be yet.

Wow is really all that can be said for my opinion of this game. Had no idea if I would love or detest this game, but def leaning towards loving it. Such a deep experience, and while it doesn't hold your hand through the process of learning things, it also doesn't abandon you either.

Is there not? I thought I had read that as you discover planets, they get added to some sort of galactic map.

There is a galactic map, but actually map of a planet you are on I haven't found yet.
