So are they developing additional content and having continued support for this game?

That's all I care about. It's gathering dust basically.

That's what they told us at launch, but they've been relatively silent since.

I doubt it. Hopefully I am wrong.

Well if you want go by the example of The Stomping Land that I posted on the last page, it took about 2 or 3 months of silence for the community outcry to elicit the game initially being removed from Steam and a developer reply. It then took another month for the game to be pulled from Steam again. Then, on top of that, it took another 5 months for the game to be officially declared abandoned and pulled from Steam for good.

So if No Man's Sky follows a similar pattern, you can officially consider it abandoned by May.

That's probably a fair way to look at it. I think we'll see an update or two, but I don't believe we'll see a lot of new functionality.

If they did add some functionality, maybe it would improve their Steam rating a bit. I don't know if I've ever seen a rating so low for a game published by a major company.

I keep telling myself I'll pick it back up when it's sub-$20 on sale, but if you really think about it you've seen the entire game after just a few planets depending on geography. Some stale carrots on some very long sticks from there.

This was the biggest disappointment for me. The whole "18 quin" number thrown around is technically accurate but definitely a little misleading.

                      Re: No Man's Sky

I respectfully disagree. No Man's Sky is doing what its suppose to do. Deliver different planets to explore.

My issues with No Man's Sky is the end encountering with the alien races that seems rushed and a let down. The lack of continuing stories with them and the atlas. Lack of trading ingenuity, death, danger, and no multi-player contributes to its lack of features.

                      As for the worlds................

Haven't played it in more than 6 weeks but I've never yet seen a water planet. A planet with 2 suns. A fire planet. An Ice Planet....etc...etc.

These discovered worlds look much different than the 6 worlds I've encountered. And the 6 worlds I discovered were all different from each other with different alien life.

How many of that number returned or deleted the game for a refund though? I know at least 20 people on here who bailed and got there money back, myself included. That's has got to have an impact on further development I would think.

Two of those pictures look relatively unique to anything I found on my 40 hours

Every planet I found in my last 5-10 hours with the game looked and felt identical to something I already found and explored earlier

Two suns (is this even in the game?), true fire planets and ice planets, I don't think those exist in the game the way I would consider a fire planet of ice planet to be. You can find planets that are hot and/or cold, for sure

The variety is severely lacking in this game considering how it marketed around 18 quin options and how every singular experiece would be unique. Right off the bat I found planets and structures on those planets that I had seen in a dozen streams or previews

I was worried about this when I was the size of the game assets pool the engine had to pull from. There's just not enough unique material
