Re: No Man's Sky
What this game really needs is a planetary map or some way of knowing which parts of a planet I've already explored.
Also, it'd be cool if you could get a rover so you could drive around on planets instead of walking/flying in your ship.Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII

I make handmade maps for every planet I visit. It fills that Lewis and Clark void in my life.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: No Man's Sky
Finally got off the planet in survival mode only to get attacked immediately by pirates once I got into space. Needless to say I died and all the cargo on the ship is gone when you die, just like when you die walking a planet, all your inventory goes. Ugh!
Think Im going to play the normal game for a bit, this survival is brutalPlaystation Network:That70s_Gamer

Btw, it's well balanced and fair with the player. You get punished for stupid decisions but if you play carefully, planning your moves, you can manage it.Comment

Re: No Man's Sky
Sounds fairly Dark Souls-ish. That game got a lot of hype for its difficulty, but to me it was more about making informed decisions and not running blindly into situations. I Platinum'ed Dark Souls on both consoles and I'm hardly what you would call a skilled player.www.heyimbill.com | sports poster art and other cool stuffComment

Re: No Man's Sky
The Advertising Standards Association in the UK has found that the advertising for No Man's Sky was not misleading.
This was pretty much the expected conclusion, actually. The standard for determining false advertising in video games in the USA and UK is pretty damn high. See this video by Super Bunnyhop if you're curious for an explanation as to why that is the case.Comment

Re: No Man's Sky
Base building has been so much fun. I have spent at least my last 6 game hours of the game on it to try and make a super mansion type.
Will likely make tons of different styles on different planets.Come hang with me on YouTube! I stream/make videos on a variety of games from sports, to action, to adventure!

Re: No Man's Sky
I personally haven't used it yet, but someone on PC built a massively tall tower by removing the parts limit (a PC-only modification) and then building straight up.
Turns out the game doesn't allow you to get to space this way, as apparently your ship is required to trigger the planet-to-space transition. So no, you can't build a space elevator, but you can nevertheless build very tall things.
As to building something around a planet, I'm sure on PS4 you'll run into the building limit well before you can do that, lol.Comment

Re: No Man's Sky
Encountered a weird bug tonight. Was walking around exploring a planet when all of a sudden my view just starts rapidly spinning like crazy. It was a pain. I could only walk/jetpack backward and if I started walking forward it would just spin out again after a few seconds. It was interesting trying to get back to my ship and off the planet, but fortunately it went away once I had flown my ship. Did a google search and found a YouTube video so it's apparently a known bug.

Re: No Man's Sky
Picked it up after the Patch, nice and relaxing game. I have never been a grind it out kind of gamer, but this doesn't bother me. I had a nice little dogfight
