Like I said....I got about 25-30 hours of fun out of the game....of course using my own imagination as well. But I could only do that for so long.

Rinse and repeat. The game was simply a tumble dryer and I was simply going around in circles.

But I knew the game would be limited going in. What I was depending on was true developer support with updates to content.

          Crickets............Crickets............Crickets.

We have heard nothing for over month about any new content etc.

We were bamboozled. So glad I at least canceled the limited edition order.....$60 was already a hoodwink.....can you imagine those that paid $100??

          Lord.

That ending, OMG...after hyping the journey so much and then delivering that? Ouch.

Your reasoning is the big issue too...Defenders were counting on them communicating and adding things on. Not going silent forever.

Yep....what a **** show this ended up being. Such a shame too. The game has so much potential. Just a ton of it.

So let me get this straight.

You guys complain that the developers spent too much time talking about the game and delivering an incomplete game.

And now you're complaining they are radio silent so they can work on the missing features?

I mean, if you really think the company just took money and disappeared to work on some other game or never make a game again, you're ridiculous.

This is the reason this thread has dove into such garbage. It's not the critiques of the game. It's the ridiculousness of the people that never played the game and immediately attacked others that wanted to enjoy something they were looking forward to.

You guys are exactly why OS isn't the place it used to be. Just attacks on others instead of letting people enjoy what they enjoy.

It doesn't help when the tweet you used was the last tweet he has sent out back on Aug 18.

I like the game but people totally have the right to complain especially since they have been silent for awhile.

On one hand I agree with you very strongly that OS has changed. I feel "snark" has come back in a big way and it just isn't as friendly as it used to be.

I also agree it is pretty common for people with the "unpopular opinion" to get "put on blast" a little bit. Maybe not attacked, per se, but just kind of "questioned" like "why do you like the game?" or "wow, really, you like the game?"

I am guilty of doing that and I am am trying to get better.

On the other hand, I really feel like some really poor choices were made with this game, pre and post launch. I wanted to love this game more than any other game, ever, and maybe that was my fault for putting so much stock into it. I won't call the dev's tactics "shady," I will just repeat and call it a series of "really poor" choices.

And yes, the troll job mentioned is so egregious that it is probably a good thing most people stopped playing well before reaching that point.

I do fear that no content updates are coming. I admit that I may be unjustified in that thinking and maybe its my bad for being so skeptical. In fairness to me, it seems like as weeks go on instead of rays of hope or leaks of good new, we instead get reports of why things went wrong (like Sean distancing himself from the Sony guy after that guy raised concerns over game content and pricing) and just a bunch of overall "weirdness" around this project.

I don't think anyone at Hello Games woke up one day and set out to "swindle" anyone. I think they started something that grew into something more massive than they ever would have thought, and that massive situation kicked their asses. Some people can handle an *** kicking like that, others cant. Seems like Sean is the latter. HG seems to have shrunk behind the pressure and that's fine, do what you gotta do. I just don't like that people were shamed SO HARD for having issues with the game off the get go.

That guy who bought the game for 2 grand (would love to know how he genuinely feels about that, now), he knew what was going to happen. The writing was on the wall when you watched his rundown video or read between the lines of his reddit post. People who didn't even own the game yet (because it still was 2 weeks before release) formed a committee (they literally called it an investigative committee) to try and defraud all of his claims about the game's shortcomings, including, and I kid you not, "there was a fingerprint smudge on the disc, so it can't be retail."

That is just one example. Again, this game is just choked with this thick poisonous cloud of weirdness from so many angles.

It is so easy for me to sit back and criticize, I realize that, and admit that I could never do anything like this. I could never create something so financially successful and famous. I respect HG for that, but at the same time, while they don't owe us anything, I think it would go a long way for Sean to sit down and just talk about what went wrong.

There is gonne be a documentary about this game one day. FW gonna be hit up for interviews lol

I agree. There was vitriol, hyperbole, and overreactions from both sides around launch time. It's twitter though, it's the internet. Not that it makes it OK, but I mean, I think we have to expect people to act that way online, unfortunately.
