I think I'm going to jump back in to this game. The amount of effort they've put in to it is ridiculous.Comment

Re: No Man's Sky
I just started a new character after some 300 hours with my last one. They have actually changed story stuff since even the last update. I am finding new stuff every time I play.
The amount of work this team has put into this one game is nothing short of insane. If this game is even remotely interesting to someone it is really a loss if you don't give this another go in the current state of the game.
There is even more coming in the pipeline. A lot of us and insiders alike think sometime before October when the Switch version releases that we are going to get a huge update to 4.0.In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

Re: No Man's Sky
I am amazed at how much work they've put into the game, but there are still some areas I wish to see redone before I can really see myself sticking to the game. Every time I hope back in, I never stay hooked and a large part of that is because the planet and animal generation are now the most lacking parts of the game.
I simply wish planets were more fun to explore, animals were more varied and unique, and there was a true importance to discovering things. Planets lack oceans, don't have differing biomes, etc. Once you explore a planet for 5 minutes you've basically seen the entire thing. The same few resources are on each planet.
They've done such a good job redoing so many parts of the game that if they would focus on planet and animal generation and make resources much more complex, they'd knock it out of the park and myself and many others I've seen in a similar boat would be hooked on the game.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

We’ll that seals the deal for me. I may hit you up for info if I have questions. I’ve been out of the loop on this game since just after launch.

A lot of us think this kind of upgrade is coming in 4.0. But of course this is just speculation. But as you point out this is the one place that has not received an update in a long time.In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

I know this seems like a repost and the only addition is the PC fix. But this was like 5gb so there has to be something to it on PS4 or PS5 that is not listed.Last edited by Bullit; 07-24-2022, 02:41 PM.In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

Re: No Man's Sky
Been getting a ton of crashes since the Endurance update. Got 2 on Thursday night before quitting then 2 more within 1/2 hour of gameplay time this afternoon. All were on the same planet that I had been on before the Endurance update so I decided to leave the planet after releoading after the 2nd crash today got to a new planet in the same system but when I tried to summon an exocraft it said I didn't have a exocraft summoning station in the system (Had already had an exocraft summoned on the 1st planet). Hadn't been to my freighter yet so I thought maybe it desummoned with the update so I resummoned it again and tried summoning an exocraft again and it said the same thing so I built an exocraft summoning (was my exocraft summoning roome deleted? Maybe that's what was causing the 1st 4 crashes because I had a summoned exocraft but not summoning station>) terminal on the planet and had no more problems while exploring the last 3 planets of that system.
Finished exploring the system and went through the blackhole I new was in th system, arrived at the next system, summoned my freighter and docked with it. Checked out the new features/layout as I headed up to my freighter base and when I got there my exocraft summoning room was still there so I deleted it with the intention of rebuilding it, but it wasn't available in the build menu. Went to the freighter research station on the bridge and apparently I had to relearn the recipe for it (fortunately I still had some salvaged frigate modules in my inventory) so I did so and rebuilt the room
Finished up on my freighter and left and stopped at the space station to sell some unneeded upgrade modules I'd accumulated then headed down to the 1st planet and landed on an island in the middle of the ocean and as soon as I disembarked my ship the game crashed. Reloaded the game and discovered it had still manage to save my game even though it crashed so I explored the ocean around the island for a few minutes then got back in my ship and took off for space so I could get to the day side and find the large landmass. Found the continent went down and found a save marker to land at ,landed and disembarked my ship ... And it crashed AGAIN. So yeah, this is getting a bit ridiculous.Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII

Re: No Man's Sky
I haven't come back to play the game since its infancy. Much like GTA:O, I feel like too many rollouts left me behind and it's way too ambitious for me to be on an even keel with others.
On some front though, this game still has an "end goal," correct? Reaching the center of the universe?
Curious, for those who know what is at the center of the universe, has it updated/improved in recent updates? Is it a huge spoiler to actually know what is there? Is it really a huge deal to reach it, as in one would be incentivized to play forever to get there?

SpoilerI will say this though. Once you reach the "end" you are given the choice to reset the Universe or basically move to another Universe. These choices can range from a war torn brutal wasteland of a Universe to basically a peaceful one full of Paradise planets. I think there are some 40 or so Galaxies that you can eventually transition to in allIn Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012
