A patch was released today that fixed among other things living ships not being able to land on planets.

The one thing I don't like about the new inventory layout is that I can't see my entire cargo inventory at once .
Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII
      Penguins : 1990/91, 1991/92, 2008/09, 20015/16, 2016/17
      Pirates : 1909, 1925, 1960, 1971, 1979
      Panthers (FB): 1915, 1916, 1918, 1929, 1931, 1934, 1936, 1937, 1976
      Panthers (MBB): 1927/28, 1929/30

Little confused about this. Which cargo are you talking about here? Previously each type of inventory had its own tab - Regular Inventory, Tech, and High-capacity. AFAIK High Capacity doesn't exist anymore, and the remaining two sections are now shown on one screen.

          Re: No Man's Sky

Yeah, I officially hate the new inventory. Now I have to re-purchase all the necessary slots just to get back to where I was before the patch.

EDIT: JK, now you can just use drop pod data like the rest of the maps. So I'm doing that.

(Still wish they wouldn't have moved everything around)

            Re: No Man's Sky

Alright, I take it back. It's a good update lol. Especially now that Drop Pods are incredibly easier.

The website mentions that inventory has been "dramatically" increased, and they weren't kidding. In the 'Cargo' section alone, I'm aware of room for AT LEAST 100 slots (and that's just on the Exosuit, the site says they increased it from the Exosuit to the freighter). So I'm wondering if there IS a limit.

That's become my new personal mission, seeing exactly how big the inventory can be.

Looks like there's room for 100 slots in both the Technology AND Cargo. So 200 inventory slots on your person at once. I don't really do much with the freighter, so no idea how big that is now.

              Re: No Man's Sky

I haven't been able to find a solid answer, but in the new difficulty settings you can turn On-Foot Combat to "None". Does that mean it completely gets rid of sentinels? I just turned it off and started testing, so I suppose I'll answer my own question shortly.

I just really hate going to a planet with highly aggressive sentinels because they raise the alert as soon as they spot you.

EDIT: Ok, so it doesn't remove sentinels from the game, but if you set the On-Foot Combat to 'none', then they 1000% ignore you completely. I just came across a Resource Depot and shot at all four containers, as well as the sentinels themselves, and the other sentinels acted like I wasn't even there.

THIS IS FINALLY WHAT I WANTED. I can now just play the game as an explorer, without having to worry about hiding or waves of enemies. Note, I did leave on space combat because that ain't too bad.

Late to the show for 4.0 because of being in Hospital. Personally I am loving all of the changes and cant wait to really dive in with a fresh start.

                  Re: No Man's Sky

Played through the new expedition and, honestly....I liked the previous one I did better (Polestar, I think I skipped one). Since there wasn't a whole lot of non-VR advancements in this latest update, the expedition kind of lacked some substance and the restriction of only being able to craft things in any of your bases (you have to make several of them) was a pain. I did get to play around with the Survey Visor for a bit which was kinda neat, and also did some of the food-creation stuff which I don't really do much of in the regular game.

The rewards were pretty nice throughout, especially the ship you get for completing the entire expedition. And like other expedition rewards, it can be brought into any saved game.

                      Just an FYI that No Man's Sky recently had a Mac launch;
Including seven years of updates and built natively for Apple silicon and i5 Intel Macs, No Man's Sky for Mac supports cross-play, PC-to-Mac cross-save, fast loading times using the Mac internal SSD and MetalFX upscaling for console graphics.

Another massive update dropped today - Echoes.

Echoes: Introducing Update 4.4 Meet a secret society of robotic aliens in update 4.4, ECHOES! Furthering the narrative introduced in INTERCEPTOR, explore the mysteries of the Autophage, perform their rituals, learn their language, and assemble your own ceremonial staff. In deep space, confront huge outlaw dreadnoughts, sweep through their trenches and destroy vulnerable components in...

Gonna get my Star Wars on with that trench running.

Although the numbers pale compare to Starfield, I think this new Echoes update has been epic from Hello Games noted in Murray's post. It's been overshadowed by Starfield and deservedly so. But still, all these new additions, stories, campaigns, and I won't bore those not into VR but the improved visuals for PSVR2 is game-changing

What an amazing journey this has been!!

I have been playing this game since launch. I have seen it grow from this empty shell of potential to one of the greatest games that I have played. With all of the updates and struggles, glitches and crashes, this game has been with me thru some really rough times. I have found peace in this game more times than you would think.

My first Trophy on PS4 was earned on 8/9/2016 and today10/22/2023 I earned my Platinum. This makes only my third, I think, in my whole timeline of gaming.

Thank you Hello Games for a great ride and here is to many more hours of enjoyment in Space.
