    Re: No Man's Sky

This game is truly amazing in the PS5 with the update.

No Man's Sky has come so far from release date to the release of the Next Gen consoles. This studio deserves so much praise for taking all of that feedback and then delivering in full. It may have took longer than what they expected, but this game is now everything that was advertised, and so much more.

I hadn't played a whole, whole lot before I put the game aside to play other things, but coming back to the game this week on the XSX and finally returning to my original home base planet, I thought that I had went to the wrong world, it's like a completely different planet.

Going forward I won't even know how much of what I see is new or not, but that's irrelevant, all that matters is that the experience is going to be phenomenal.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Yeah. Depending on when you had put it down there have been numerous patches and updates just this year alone. 3 or 4 just this year if I remember correctly. Plus the next gen update that was last week.

same exact experience, I was like 'wha???' ... i just booted it up to see what it would be like, didn't devote much time but it was totally different. My planet had lush grass in the breeze and all this stuff I don't remember.

Bit of an aside, but I thought I remembered there being a 1st person option?? or that it was entirely 1st person in the beginning? idk, but sometimes that could be useful as an option, coudln't see it anywhere

It was entirely first person in the beginning - third person was rolled out in an update, and at some point was made the default/starting view. But you can get back to FPV through the utilities menu. While not in a vehicle press D-pad down, then left a few times to get to utilities - the gear shape. Then go to the far right of the next menu to "Toggle Camera View".

Yeah, several of the big updates pretty much regenerated the universe.

              Atlas Rises (AUgust 2017)
              NEXT (March 2018)
              Beyond (March 2019)
              Origins (September 2020)

I remember after 1 update my home planet went from being a tropical planet to a hot planet. Origins was mainly cosmetic to existing planets though and added new planets. And almost every update has included cosmetic upgrades. And then the obvious upgrades for the Next-Gen version.

                Re: No Man's Sky

This is probably the only game I "replay" I usually play for a few days then it gets deleted for months at a time then they release a major update. I have almost 500 hours since it was originally released.

I may never get completely back into it but props to the constant free upgrades. It definitely over sold itself in the beginning but has come along way. The original worlds were so sparse and the scale of the planets was tiny. Played the PS5 version for about an hour yesterday and the level of density and detail is great. I'm getting lost in forest reaching cliffs edges that lead to amazing views and steep and very far drops.

Well I never thought I would make it, but here I am. 500 some odd hours and years of gameplay, so many patches and upgrades. I have made it to the Center of the Galaxy and completed some story lines. That was a great ride and a really amazing experience. I will admit I got a little emotional.

Now on to hundreds of hours and years more adventuring. Travel on.

I think I am going to keep this save going. But I want to start a fresh play thru at Survival Difficulty and really work on completing everything. Like I never really did a lot of the Mission Stuff for the different races and organizations. I also never really set up farming, mining or a permanent base of operations. There is just so much in this game now. Even with all of the time I have already put in, there is just so much I have never really messed with. I havent even done a derelict freighter mission yet.

I'd consider starting fresh like you are, because all those missions take you slowly through doing all that....though if you dont' really have any big bases it wouldn't hurt on this save either. The missions are pretty cool, give you focus

Yeah I know I missed some story elements because I was passed them when those particular story elements were added later in the game and other updates. In the beginning a lot of the story really did not exist.

Just wanted to let people know, if you have PS+ this game is $29.99 on the PS Store.

I just bought it again to have it digitally.

The new companion update has been a blast!

I started playing this game for the first time on gamepass last week on series x.First time I tried playing I was turned off. Then I watched a youtube video on how to do some things and tried again. I was sucked in this past week and it has overtaken my life. lost in space. Then a couple days ago I cannot connect to online discovery mode. I can go to the space anomaly and do online things but not the online discovery mode. I signed out of my gamer tag while in game and then rebooted it which let it connect for a couple minutes and then it cuts out again. I heard this has a been problem before on there servers, Anyone know of a fix or solution? Talk about sucking me in but then taking away one of the best parts of the game. I was meeting random people and exploring there bases and now I have none of that working. If this game improves on things a little it could be the most addicting game I played in years. I just love a lot of aspects of this style of game.
