I must say though I had it at launch and it's super hard to pull the trigger to play it again. The very beginning is tedious enough to stop me from jumping back in

I decided to start from scratch as I too had it at launch.

It is tedious but we are grinding thru the beginning.

I needed a change of pace desperately and this game is a really nice departure.

    Playing on normal for now.

I've also been thinking about jumping in again and starting a new. Interested to hear from people which mode they choose from as I'm debating that next move. For those wondering what are the challenges of each mode here's a breakdown from Fandom

        No Man's Sky

Been playing and made my first base on my second planet I landed on in my first system.

        Hawayan X

A tropical planet that has mostly great weather. We found a beautiful spot overlooking the water with plentiful resources. Built my first portal to quick travel to the systems space station.

Game is really engrossing for me right now! I am going to be building up my first base, ship and gather lot’s of resources to build my currency to do significant upgrades to my suit and ship as well as my base.

Once I have my hyper drive and confidence with how my base is set up we will start traveling to new systems and see what is “out there”.

Really glad I started this game again. I am just scratching the surface of all the updates since 2016 which was the last time I played.

        Edit:

I also forgot to mention the obvious enhancements playing this game on the PS5. It is night and day!!!

Just recently found out about this game. Looks pretty sweet I have to say. Huge respect to devs for not giving up on the project.

Update 3.8 Just went live on PS4. I have no idea why the delay. Everybody else got it yesterday?

Oh I might give this a go. Put in well over 200 hrs mostly in the beginning prior to all the updates with a few hours scattered about here and there since the early days.

Credit where credit is due. This game is 6 years old and they keep putting out FREE updates and no microtransactions.

Wow!! If you loved it then, you will be shocked now. It is almost an entirely different game now. Just about everything it was SUPPOSED to be it IS now. This is just about, if not the, greatest redemption arc in video games.

Plus Sean Murray just tweeted a few days ago that No Mans Sky is a long way from being done.

These Devs do more with a 14gb update than most do with a whole game. I am not on my usual rig. I am in a hotel on a 42" base tv in 1080 on my pro and this game looks amazing. I cant wait to see it on my 65" 4k at home!! I hope this summer to be able to get a PS5. I can only imagine how sweet it looks. The graphic quality from the last update to this one is really really wild.

This is amazing. Its like everything has a purpose now. The Outlaw systems are very exciting. You can actually be a Pirate/Smuggler now. There are problems and dangers to doing so. Really feels like you are committing crimes. Bounties are new and with the tweaks to space combat everything seems just q bit more dangerous. Pirates and Sentinels will chase you planet side so avoiding combat is a whole lot harder. Not to mention that enemy ships have shields now as well.

The new ships are so very cool. Weapons and Cargo tweaks are tight. The Cloak and hoods are awesome. Cant wait to try out the new squadron mechanics.

So much to this game now. Really one of, if not the best redemption story. A lot of companies could learn a lot from Hello Games.

Lets also mention this is out less than two month after the last major update and not one penny has been charged for any of it!!!

Bravo. This is really a masterpiece now.
