You can play offline. The only thing that "requires" online is the multi player expeditions. Every thing else can be done offline. Of course you wont see other bases or players.

At start you have choices. Base game which is single player/multi player/survival/perma death/creation

Just looked and I have put 486 hours into No Man's Sky. Pretty sure I bought it at launch, and a lot of that was before the game even really got rolling with the huge free updates.

I wonder what their sales figures are like to still be dropping huge updates for free 5 almost 6 years after initial release. Good on them for the constant upgrades though.

The new update screwed up my bases. A bunch of stuff is messed up with them. I'm assuming it has something to do with all of the new construction parts that were added or changed. I heard that it's also glitched the Freighter missions. Guess I'll just have to wait on a patch before diving back in. They'll get it fixed. I trust them.

Hot fixes already out for PC should be sometime today for Consoles. From my understanding this is why the never release Updates on Fridays so they can hot fix any issues right away that they can without having to wait a weekend.

Haven't played in awhile. When I do, I want to start again in VR. I have PSVR setup in a different room with the PS4 and want to complete all those games first due to the headache of relocating the headset constantly. I will say that if you have a PS5, PSVR, and this game, you owe it to yourself to try it out. The visuals and drawback are much crisper with volume on the PS5.

Quick question for you all. Anybody see the manual save in the construction que? I have the save beacon but the manual save round thingy I can not find?

Started a new save this is the second planet I land on. No crazy weather, no angry sentinels, lots of plants and animals.

there seems to be an update of 3-5 gigs every few days!

I must say though I had it at launch and it's super hard to pull the trigger to play it again. The very beginning is tedious enough to stop me from jumping back in
