I'm on a seemingly barren planet but I keep hearing these odd shrieks in the distance, I'm freaked out lol

Dug a hole in the ground randomly and found a cave network, pretty cool

My flashlight doesn't seem to always wanna work?

      Re: No Man's Sky

So I forgot who suggested to listen to the soundtrack for The Matrian and Interstellar while playing this, but I did this last night and I sort of forgot when playing that it wasn't the game'e soundtrack. There would be intense music going on and I would freak out thinking where to go and what to do.

Then two perfect instances hit when doing the Interstellar soundtrack.

The first moment was when I killed a sentinel at the top of a hill, and the little piece it leaves behind started rolling down the hill. I was chasing it to the music that plays when Cooper and his kids are chasing the drone in the truck.

The second one was when I went underwater exploring into a cave, and the track playing was the ticking clock sound on the water planet in the movie. When my oxygen hit halfway and I realized there wasn't anywhere to surface out of the cave, I turned back around and started scurrying as quickly as possible. That was when the music started to ramp up (when the big wave comes in the movie). It was freaky! I actually lost all of my oxygen supply and was close to dead, but I made it out!

Thinking back, I really should have captured these moments. I have to get used to doing that though, I've never used the video save/upload feature on PS4. Normally I'm playing Remote Play in games so it's disabled anyway.

Figured out finally how to set various way points on the system map with discovered systems.

Thank goodness! We have custom slots beyond the center path and free form.

Using te D-pad to search for discovers then set your way point to the system you want to head back to.

my starting planet looks like a desert-like planet, but is below freezing during the day(but not hazardous), at night it dips below -40C.

only played around 30 minutes, just running around picking up stuff and exploring. need to find zinc to finish repairs

Yeah it's working out well for me right now too. I just have those two albums on a playlist and set it to shuffle. Anyone recommend other orchestra/instrumental music that would fit in as well?

Kind of crazy that they didn't include visual c++ redistributable from the beginning.

I'm probably going to pick it up tonight. I want to play it regardless. If it doesn't run on my machine I can just refund it.

Was reading people say you can tweak a file to make the FOV a lot better, and people recommending going thru Nvidia Control panel to override FXAA and AA. Haven't tried either yet

Twitch is the world's leading video platform and community for gamers.

First three hours with the game. Never left my first planet, don't plan on doing so for awhile either. Trying to explore the whole thing, but it's a planet.... so that is kind of hard. I wish the game at least told you where you've been on a planet, but oh well. Ended up buying it because I figured I could refund it if I didn't like it. Don't think I'll be doing that. I set my expectations pretty low after all the questions I had and right now I am having a good time with it. I can see myself wasting hours upon hours exploring for sure. I went to the galactic map, went into the free roam look and I really couldn't comprehend space still.

I started over messing with settings and whatnot, so I started on two or three planets, can't remember, but I'll just post a few pictures of the planet I actually did anything on. I didn't explore any when messing with settings.

So, I have only played about 2 hours, just getting into this game. I am loving it so far. I am still getting used to the controls and haven't decided on playing with controller or mouse/keyboard.
I am currently hitting 100+ fps consistently. My specs are i7-6700K, GTX980Ti, BenQ 144Hz G-sync monitor. I feel bad for those that are having frame rate issues. The first thing I did was turn off V-sync (I have G-sync monitor, which really helps) and Max the FPS in the game settings. All other graphics are maxed out @ 1920 x 1080.

Is it better to buy a ship from one of the other aliens in the space station, salvaging a crashed ship, or can better ships be acquired through other means?
