Found the last blueprint needed to make warp cells completely from scratch, in total you need:

        50 carbon
        100 plutonium
        50 heridium
        20 zinc
        100 thamium

To make one warp cell, all really common and easy to find, unlike some of these elements used to craft upgrades. Hopefully the rarer elements become more common as you make your way to the center.

I have only met one race so far, but to my knowledge, you are correct. There are multiple factions within the game and befriending one can anger another. On the flipside, befriending one can result in them defending you if the other faction attacks.
That - if true - would make me want the game. If it is deep enough so that factions align against you and there are hostile areas which you need a big, bad ship to survive then I would probably get the game - so long as combat is more than just arcade.

If it is exclusively what I've seen on the streams, use a ray gun to get elements to use to upgrade a ship with more storage to carry more elements. Rinse and repeat. No thanks.

Yes. Suit inventory holds 250. Ship holds 500.

It's true. But you're likely to spend 90% of the game doing the latter than the former.

From reading your comments in the thread and from what you seem to expect out of this game, I wouldn't recommend the game to you.

Have you played Elite Dangerous and if so how would no man's sky compare?

I've seen people 50/50 on this. There are people that hate NMS and say, "Elite Dangerous is better." And I've seen people say, "I love NMS and Elite Dangerous."

Elite Dangerous seems to be more about in-space flight combat with trading, factions, etc. That's what I've gathered. No Man's Sky is more about on-foot resource management and exploration with trading, factions, and some flying.

Honestly I think NMS just has to add more gameplay options so the loop isn't just "get resourses, sell resources, upgrade, repeat". Hello Games is a small shop, so I've realized we have to treat this like an Indie game whereas it got pushed like a AAA game.

Right now it's pretty limited, but there's potential from what I see on streams. Hopefully that gets here before people get too bored this fall and move on to all the other new games.

Is there a way to check the time played on this game? I can't believe they wouldn't have put that in. This definitely should be patched somehow.

Anyway, I really feel like if you don't play this game Day 1 or get a good first week into it, you might "fall behind" a little bit. That's how I feel considering I've probably only logged about 7-8 hours into the game, everyone talking about buying ships worth millions and jumping from planet to planet, etc. I'm staying on my planet for quite some time trying to learn the Korvax language and get some damn warp core, because I sure as hell can't do that right now.

Although I don't own it that is my impression from the streams. Compared to elite dangerous I give NMS a big edge in graphics but ED a big edge in story and excitement.

Without question NMS has enormous potential. Imagine vast areas of space controlled by certain factions, some hostile. Missions to go on. That would provide a reason to upgrade to a larger, badder, ship. I suspect as time goes on the developers will add more content. At the moment the excitement seems to be to get a larger cargo hold to hold more "stuff". Like buying a new house for more closet space.
